Alick
I've watched a lot of videos of this game, and played it a friends house and I just can't see what the complaints are with the graphics, it may look slightly dated, but I can't say they're terrible. Admittedly I probably won't buy this as I can't see it entertaining me for too long, but it's good to see Duke make a return. The reviews for this game I feel were a little harsh, and I think it's just one of those games you have to take at face value and not go into it thinking it's going to blow your mind or something stupid like that. CharmingCharlie
The PC versions got much better reviews than the console versions. So I will agree with you based on the reviews so far Duke Nukem Forever on the console sucks, but on the PC it is a different story. ...uh, what? Average score based off nine reviews for PC: 6.2 Average score based off twenty-one reviews for Xbox: 5 Average score based off twelve reviews for Ps3: 5.8 Nah, you're right, the PC version is far superior. /sarcasm Source. Jesus Remix what is your problem ? did the Duke rape your dog or something ? Firstly when I made that post the metacritic scores were something like 76 for the PC and 50 for the consoles. Secondly if you took 5 minutes and actually checked the details of the metacritic scores you will see that the PC is still getting more favourable reviews than the console version :- PC Version :- 3 positive reviews 4 mixed reviews 2 negative reviews Console version :- 1 positive review 14 mixed reviews 8 negative reviews Now that may change as more reviews come out, I dunno I am not clairvoyant. What is interesting though is that the user reviews on metacritic are quite favourable on the PC with it getting around 70%. I appreciate you do not like the game and you have made your point but now you are just f*cking trolling. How about you let those that DO enjoy the game get on with talking about it rather than trying to prove your opinion is right and other peoples opinions are wrong. CharmingCharlie
lol, thats the way you do it.. if somebody doesn't agree with you, then claim they're trolling. INTERNET SUCCESS. He made his point, he does not like the game. I accept he does not like this game but just because he does not like the game does not mean this game is BAD. There are plenty of people that DO like this game and they want to talk about the game rather than keep hearing how "wrong" they are for actually enjoying the game. There is nothing wrong with people coming into a topic and going "hey I played Duke Nukem and thought it was sh*t" but when you keep posting the same thing over and over about how YOUR OPINION is the right one and other people's opinion is the wrong one that is when you enter trolling territory. If I played a game I didn't like I wouldn't be hanging around a topic about that game to discuss it, I would post my opinion and leave. Minic
and however,lol...-dig at halo- See I find that sorta ironic, considering Gearbox did the port of Halo 1 to PC, though then again they didn't do the whole of DNF.
Inky
I bought the game a few hours ago for PC and have been playing it since. Since the game's come out I've not bothered to read any of the reviews so really I started this game just knowing it's Duke and it's new. Admittedly the game's graphics aren't in, say, Crysis 2 territory but it still looks fantastic on the top graphics settings Game play is also there too thank god. The gun mechanics have no real problems for me. The two gun limit isn't that bad, after all as long as I have at least one gun I can kick some ass right? One thing that does annoy me though are the twins. I know the game's not taking itself seriously, but their air headed personalities really wear thin on me fast. MessedUpPro
I'm my opinion: Just another Serious Sam. Whoa whoa! Wait a minute. Did you call Duke Nukem "another Serious Sam"? You know Serious Sam copied Duke, right? Duke Nukem 3D=1996 Serious Sam (who used to look just like Duke)=2001 Anyway. I finally got the game. This game is almost as old as me, and I finally have it. PC Review: I am no Duke Nukem "fanboy". I used to play Duke Nukem 3D on N64 with my cousins, but that is where it ends. Playing this game reminded me of that...and I love it. Regardless of how far Graphics have come or how "advanced" FPS's are now, this game still holds up. On my PC, with all the settings turned up, it looks great. This game gives the feeling of "I can do anything!". From Pissing in a toilet to microwaving a rat, there is a lot to do. Despite what other reviewers say, it is decent at least. If you played Duke Nukem 3D, I recommend this. It is what it is advertised as: a sequel to the greatest FPS of the 90's. Graphics- Decent and playable with the setting all the way up. 9/10 Controls- Haven't tried my 360 controller yet, but the Mouse and Keyboard work great. 10/10 Story- Basic and funny, yet compelling. I find myself very into the story. 9.5/10 Gameplay- I get annoyed by the "two guns only" thing, but everything else is great. As I said, it gives the feeling of "I can do anything!". 9/10 Sound- Duke's one-liners are great as they have ever been. Love the gun sounds. Music itself (besides the theme song) could use work. 8.5/10 Overall- As I said, it is what it is advertised as: a Duke Nukem 3D sequel. Graphics are up to par with modern times, PC load times are quick, and gameplay is great. 9/

I did not say it came before it. It's just another boring FPS. Go ahead and bash me for it. But if the videogame industry wants to make another FPS atleast make it unique. Again, Like Portal or HL2. Braindawg
Sure. Everyone is entitled for their own opinion. I'm just dissapointed that it turned out to be "just another mindless FPS" after waiting for 12 years.
MessedUpPro
Well if that is how you feel, that is how you feel. I can't change that. If you are disappointed, sorry to hear that. I, on the other hand, completely disagree with you. This game doesn't give me that feeling at all. And actually, it was 15 years in development. deathdealer
some of these reviews are bullsh*t. I have the 360 version of DNF and it plays just fine. the load times are lengthy but other than that it's solid gameplay.
MessedUpPro
The media tells people what is good and bad. It's terrible. Some people form an opinion before playing a game or watching a movie! It sucks! A lot of people will miss out on DNF because most reviews are bad. I don't even understand why people call the game bad and "garbage". Duke is back (hopefully). I think I have said enough in this thread. RECAP: -Great Game -PC is best version -Media is so used to one formula, they get mad when Duke breaks it (kinda). -Many people will miss out on Duke because of IGN and Destructoid. Thats all I gotta say folks. Hope I convinced SOMEBODY DNF is decent.

I, on the other hand, completely disagree with you. This game doesn't give me that feeling at all. And actually, it was 15 years in development. well ,every one had their opinion, most of players now get used with nowaday FPS game,so when they get back with Doom,Quake,... back in the day, they couldn't get use to it since it's had bad graphic and "classic style" gameplay, complete different than nowaday FPS. so there are no strange here.i playing this game now and enjoy so far,not like some bullsh*t review said on internet.come get some difficult doesn't hard as i expect thought.it has been 6 hours but i'm just about half of the game(spent some time to do silly stuff infact, fun as hell ). and the most greatest part in this game is: not shooting all sh*t up everytime i hope they will release a mod tool soon so people could made custome contents just like DN ̶2̶̶D̶ 3D back in the day and lol.i'm suprised that DNF review on gamespot is much worse than IGN one ,wonder why the hell most of people blame for graphic.but when COD using the same sh*t engine, same graphic with just a bit of improve on each years but they still didn't said any thing about it. MessedUpPro
Yeah I get where you are coming from. I hope for a mod tool as well! That would be wonderful! And I also agree on what you said about Call of Dookie. It's ridiculous.
DJSmurf2009
Im sorry but the online for DNF on the 360 (only console i have so cant judge other platforms) is piss poor quality... Every game i load i get kicked out 10 seconds - 3 mins in with a message " The Connection to the host has been lost. "....
Max_Powers
Im so iffy on this one. I waited so long, but I dont want to blow 60 bucks on something that might dissapoint me. The only fact that dissapoints me so far is the 2 gun deal. WTF!!? All I wanted was a Duke 3d remake. Same old but nicer on the eyes. Ill wait till this one is cheaper, most likely... trip
Its opinions get over it.If you like the game is all that matters So true. I'm an old school Duke3D fan. I'm playing the PC version and I think it is great. Everything I expected and nothing has let me down. If I wanted to pick one thing I don't like, it would be how they glow the doors you need to open to progress. But since they took away the key card doors, I guess it is kind of a necessity. However, I wouldn't have been disappointed if they didn't glow the doors and made us hunt around for what to do. Rockworm
so let me get this straight... F the reviews even if their right? after watching several videos on the gameplay itself and several reviews and some LPs It sounds like Halo trying to be funny. It looks like a rental but sadly I'm now out of a job and money for gaming is out of the question so not even a rental lol. whatever if you like the game then more power to you but reviewers are supposed to give the game a review if you expected perfect scores across the board than thats your problem not theirs. Ok I watched some of the video and say the other side of the coin. a 3? A reviewer needs to be professional giving a 3 just for the hell of it is no good either.
