Storyline: This fanfic is for Swinger freaks, and is set in a fictional baseball league in GTA Universe called “Meager League Baseball” (MLB). It chronicles the 2010 Meager League playoff run of the Liberty Swingers, a hugely popular team in GTA IV. The fanfic also chronicles 7 other Meager League Baseball teams that have made the playoffs, but focuses mostly on the Swingers. I’ve created a league of 20 baseball teams based on real life teams from all of the cities that are mentioned in the GTA World. Next I simulated an entire season of baseball with random results to reach this point. The reason why I did not make a fanfic for the entire season is because 162 games is too much to cover, so I skipped to this point. Plus I wanted to make this fanfic because there are a lot of sports references in GTA, yet we never see or hear about the competitions between these teams. We never know who the champions are, who sucks, whose winning, etc.

Format: The results of each game in this fanfic are completely random, even I have no idea what will happen. There's a 50/50 chance that the Swingers wont make the World Series so if they get eliminated then the focus on the fanfic will shift. As for now, it will focus on the Swingers until or if they get eliminated. It will have a brief pregame and postgame reaction by Liberty Sports Network analyist, Homer Bias.

LIBERTY SWINGERS VS DETROIT BENGALS ALDS GAME 1

Homer Bias Preview: The Liberty Swingers will begin their campaign to return to the World Series tonight live here on Liberty Sports Network. But first they must get through the Detroit Bengals, the Wild Card scrubs of the American League. The Bengals finished the regular season with an 82-80 record, a far cry from the dominant season of the Swingers who led Meager League Baseball in wins. The Swingers will come into this series as the clear favorites, with both an offensive and pitching advantage. The Bengals are just fortunate to be here, and it will show. P.J. Butler will get the start for the Swingers against Jeremy Bonder. The Swingers come into the playoffs as the hottest team in the Meagers, having won 15 of their last 20 games. The Bengals just narrowly entered the playoffs after holding the Texas Stranglers. I believe that the Swingers will make quick work of the Bengals starting tonight, and will win Game 1 behind a stellar performance by Butler.

Swingers: [3, 0, 2, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0] [6, 8, 0]

Bengals: [0, 0, 0, 0, 3, 2, 2, 0, 0] [7, 11, 1]

Runs: Devin Jennings (2), Alfonzo Fraudriguez (2), Maurice London (2)

Runs: Jimmy Dayton, Casper Wilkes, Bernard Inglesby (2), Jim Parrish (2), Alex Johnson

HR: Jimmy Dayton, Jim Parrish

Homer Bias Postgame: The Liberty Swingers gave Game 1 away to the Detroit Bengals by losing Game 1, 7-6. The night began promising, as the Swingers immediately roughed up Jeremy Bonder for 3 runs in the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. Then they added 2 more runs in the 3rd inning to increase their lead to 5-0. Alfonzo Fraudriguez’s run in the top of the fifth inning gave the Swingers a comfortable 6-0 lead. But the Bengals responded with a 3 run fifth inning, sparked by a Jimmy Dayton homerun, as the Bengals cut the lead in half to 6-3. Jim Parrish’s homerun in the sixth inning cut the lead further to 6-4, then Alex Johnson’s run scored made it 6-5. The Bengals would tack on 2 more runs in the 7th inning to take a 7-6 lead which they held onto for the win. The Bengals scored all of their runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, but that was all they needed. In other news, the Arizona Cobras defeated the Liberty Mutts, 6-3. And the Bayside Players defeated the Ohio Natives 4-2. Both the Bayside Players and Arizona Cobras have 1-0 leads in their prospective series.

LIBERTY SWINGERS VS DETROIT BENGALS ALDS GAME 2

Homer Bias Pregame: The sh*tty Detroit Bengals have the Swingers down 1-0 in the series, but the Swingers will attempt to even it up tonight. The Bengals aren’t good enough to win a five game series with the Swingers, so I fully expect them to even things up. Paul Higgins will get the start for the Swingers against Rich Potier. Paul Higgins must limit the long ball, which killed the Swingers in Game 1. They must also get production tonight out of guys like Jackie Cino, Larry Birch, and Martin Teixuro. The pressure will be on the Bengals, since the Swingers have been here so many times before. Still, it all comes down to execution, which I believe the Swingers will do tonight.

Swingers: [2, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 2, 0, 0] [4, 5, 1]

Bengals: [0, 0, 0, 2, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0] [3, 4, 1]

R: Alfonzo Fraudriguez, Nate Sweeney (HR), Devin Jennings (HR), Chris Anderson (HR)

R: Rick Cartier, Jerry Laverd, Alex Johnson

Homer Bias Postgame: The Liberty Swingers came up huge last night, tying the ALDS 1-1 behind a masterful performance from Paul Higgins. Higgins held the Bengals to just four hits, while the Swingers blasted three homeruns against the Bengals. The Swingers struck first once again just as they did in Game 1. Nate Sweeney’s two run homerun with Alfonzo Fraudriguez on base, gave the Swingers a quick 2-0 lead. But the Bengals would tie the game 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning off of 2 runs by Rick Cartier and Jerry Laverd. But two homeruns in the 7th inning by David Jennings and Chris Anderson put the Swingers back on top 4-2. The Bengals would cut the lead to 4-3 off of an Alex Johnson run in the eighth inning. But Marlon Ramirez would close the Bengals out to collect the save. In other news, the Carcer Scrubs beat the Capital City Americans 6-3 in Game 1 of the NLDS. The Ohio Natives defeated the Bayside Players 3-1 to even their series.

LIBERTY SWINGERS VS DETROIT BENGALS ALDS GAME 3

Homer Bias Pregame: With the series tied 1-1, the action shifts to the decaying city of Detroit. One win tonight would put the Swingers in command of the series. G.G. Sabestian will take the mound for the Swingers in hopes of duplicating Paul Higgins’ phenomenal Game 2 start. Opposite of him will be Mat Scurry who will get the start for Detroit. This is a must win for the Wild Card scrub Bengals, as they will have to face Swingers ace Ernesto Asaltacunas in Game 4. They may not win another game this series unless they take care of G.G. Sabestian tonight which is a tall order itself. The key to Game 3 is the pitching matchup, Sabestian is far superior to Scurry. If Sebastian can lock the Bengals’ hitters down, then the Swingers will breeze to victory.

Swingers: [2, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0] [5, 6, 0]

Bengals: [0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 2, 0, 0, 0] [3, 8, 0]

R: Larry Birch (HR), Jose Ponce (HR), Jackie Cino, Martin Teixuro, Chris Anderson

R: Bernard Inglesby, Bill Rimmer (2)(1 HR)

Homer Bias Postgame: G.G. Sabestian graced the Swingers with a dazzling start, en route to a 5-3 victory. Sebastian schooled the Bengals hitters up and down the lineup, while the Swingers’ bats came up clutch late in the game. The Swingers took an early 2-0 lead off of two homeruns by Larry Birch and Jose Ponce in the first inning. The Swingers have scored in the first inning of every game so far this series, and they continued their streak tonight. Bill Rimmer cut the lead to 2-1 in the fourth inning. But the Swingers immediately countered with a Jackie Cino run in the fifth inning which extended the lead to 3-1. Then Martin Teixuro added another run to give the Swingers a 4-1 lead. But the Bengals were able to produce two runs off of a Bill Rimmer homerun to cut the lead to 4-3. But that would be the last run that the Bengals would score on the night. Chris Anderson’s insurance run increased the Swingers’ lead to 5-3 in the seventh inning. The Swingers held on to win 5-3. In other news, the crosstown Mutts fell to the Arizona Cobras 5-3 as the Cobras took a 2-0 series lead. The Capital City Americans also defeated the Carcer Scrubs 3-1 to even their series at 1-1.

Cobras: 5

Game 2

Scrubs: 1

Americans: 3

LIBERTY SWINGERS VS DETROIT BENGALS ALDS GAME 4

Homer Bias Pregame: Put the Bengals in a body bag. Swinger ace Ernesto Asaltacunas is up next in the rotation for the Swingers, as they attempt to finish off the Detroit Bengals. More bad news for the Bengals is that the Swingers have found more ways to score. The Swingers defeated the Bengals 5-3 in Game 3 without any runs from either Alfonzo Fraudriguez or Devin Jennings. It is unlikely that the Bengals will be able to keep either Fraudriguez or Jennings off the scorecard two games in a row. James Verdell will get the start for the Bengals in what should be a close victory for the Swingers.

Swingers: [1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0] [2, 5, 0]

Bengals: [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 4, 0, 1, 0] [5, 7, 1]

R: Nate Sweeney, Maurice London

R: Jerry Laverd (HR), Manny Cabrar, Casper Wilkes, Jim Parrish (1), Bill Rimmer

Homer Bias Postgame: The Swingers were unable to finish the Bengals off, losing 5-2. The Bengals have forced a Game 5 in Liberty City with the Swingers. The Bengals came on late to steal the victory from the Swingers. As usual, the Swingers scored first, taking a 1-0 lead off of a Nate Sweeney run. Next, Maurice London gave the Swingers a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Asaltacunas held the Bengals scoreless until the 6th inning, when the Bengals erupted for a 4 run inning to take a 4-2 lead. Jim Parrish’s three run homerun put the Bengals in front. Then Bill Rimmer scored in the eighth inning to increase the Bengals’ lead to 5-2, which would be the final total of the game. In other news, the Arizona Cobras defeated the Mutts 6-3 to sweep the Mutts out of the playoffs. The Bayside Players lost to the Ohio Natives 5-4, as the Natives took a 2-1 lead in the series.

Game 3

Mutts: 3

Cobras: 6 [Arizona Cobras win NLDS 3-0]

Game 3

Players: 4

Natives: 5

LIBERTY SWINGERS VS DETROIT BENGALS ALDS GAME 5

Homer Bias Pregame: The Swingers let Game 4 slip away after the sixth inning, but they are back home for Game 5. It’s do or die for both teams, and P.J. Butler will also have a shot at redemption as he will start for the Swingers. The Swingers lost Butler’s Game 1 start 7-6. Going opposite of him will be Jeremy Bonder. Both pitchers were knocked around in Game 1. Butler must bring his “A-Game” tonight, and the Swingers need a big night from guys like Devin Jennings and Alfonzo Rodrigues, neither of which have scored a run since Game 2.

Swingers:[0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 2, 0, 0, 0] [2, 7, 1]

Bengals: [1, 1, 0, 3, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0] [6, 7, 0]

R: Jackie Cino, Jose Ponce

R: Jimmy Dayton, Bill Rimmer, Rick Cartier, Jim Parrish, Casper Wilkes, Alex Johnson

Homer Bias Postgame: WOW!!! The Swingers lose Game 5, 6-2 tonight as the Detroit Bengals advance to the ALCS. Jeremy Bonder held the Swingers to 2 runs, while P.J. Butler was roughed up early by the Bengals. Jimmy Dayton’s run in the first inning gave the Bengals an early 1-0 lead. Then Bill Rimmers’ run in the second inning extended Detroit’s lead to 2-0. Next, the Bengals put up a 3 spot in the fourth inning to increase their lead to 5-0. The Swingers got on the board with 2 runs in the 6th inning, but that would be all they would score tonight. Alex Johnson’s insurance run in the 7th inning put the Bengals out in front for good 6-2. In other news, the Bayside Players defeated the Ohio Natives to tie their series 2-2, and the Carcer Scrubs defeated the Capital City Americans 4-2 to take 2-1 lead in their series.

this is unique,lol

Certainly is. I've never seen a true sporting playoff story here for one. Let alone one which is a GTA spinoff. That deserves credit as there is very little that hasn't been done over the years in this tiny little corner of the GTAF community area. KUTGWM. icon14.gif
