YankeesPwnMets
I looked on Google for an answer, but most answers dated back to 2008 when the game was first released. Now, 2 years later does GTA IV support nVidia SLI? I have want to get 2 GTX 460 cards in SLI mode, but I'm not sure if the game will work. Any answers? Stinky12
Dual graphic card will only benefit if you're running on a monitor with a high resolution, if not then your 2nd card is basically going to waste. The HD6000 series cards will be out next week, hopefully this will lead to price drop on the HD5800 cards. PecanFrost
The game works with SLI, but to really get the most out of this CPU bound game in SLI you would need a monster CPU. In the majority of cases you'll find the second card doesn't really improve the game performance unless you run to high resolutions where the GPU performance starts to reduce. yoječ
Depends what you mean. If you meant having Radeon as maing GPU and GeForce for PhysiX then no, since there is no PhysiX in GTAIV. If you meant having Radeon and GeForce running together (somwehat like Crossfire or SLi) and rendering graphics then most probably yes, but you need specific motherboard to do that (the one that supports Hydra). _corTEC
I have just purchased an EVGA 470, and am planning to purchase another for SLI. Which are the best drivers to use for GTAIV? I don't want to go back to XP for 180.84 drivers. Which patch version would also be the best to use? Will performance deteriorate from patch 1.0.5.0 onwards - just as it did previously? Do you guys think that I should be running the latest patch now, because I am currently on 1.0.4.0. Thanks for any replies, I can't wait for SLI! There is no particular driver, latest will work fine win patch 1.2+ Although, you get flickering shadows when on SLI... JohnZS
The flickering Shadows are fixed for SLI. Just use the latest nVidia WHQL and you will be fine I get performance increase from SLi, but this is because I am on a GTX 295, if I had a 285+ then I think SLI'ing these cards would not yield that much of a performance increase, but since the 295 is two 275's bolted together on ONE PCB, then there is a slight increase. (This is on a Quad Core CPU). John Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/461168-gta-iv-sli/#findComment-1060228254 Share on other sites

IronHide-AW
...I get performance increase from SLi, but this is because I am on a GTX 295... Yep I did as well with previous rig had 2x295 QSLI and it absolutely owned IV (with i7-975EE though). But that was also before some of the very latest patches (don't recall the cutoff at the time) where folks regularly report a drop in performance, usually compared to 1.04. Anyway the 295 was (and still is) a stellar board. Unless you are dying to get full DX11 HW implementation, snatch another 295 and bridge those suckers Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/461168-gta-iv-sli/#findComment-1060229073 Share on other sites
