It would have to have a lot cut out of it, and it would have to linear ie Niko can't just randomly shoot people in free-roam. If GTA ever has to be into another media, then a Soprano TV series would work better as they wouldn't need to shrink the story and more characters can appear. Puto Bendejo Posted October 16, 2010 Share Posted October 16, 2010 (edited) truth, most movies based on video games suck totally for the gamer. there is NO gaming experience in a movie. so the gamer is ALWAYS dissapointed. "Max Payne" was an ok movie, but it was NOT the "Max Payne" I role-played in 3 different games. "Resident Evil" was an ok movie series, but again, NOT the games! "Mortal Kombat" had more potential than was used in the movies, but fell short of being anything close to good movies. "Mario Bros'" and "Street Fighter" both sucked on Every level. However, "Street Fighter-The Legend of Chuin Lee" I actually enjoyed. good movie, only loosely based on a character from "Street Fighter". You really can't recreate the gaming environment into a movie. It will dissapoint everytime! All of that said, I would not look forward to a movie franchise using any aspect of GTA from any era. There are enough action shooter mob betrayal movies out and coming without creating more fuel for haters and bitchers. @ Cidamelo: there has been much speculation that Niko's character was based on that character Sascha from the 1st "Behind Enemy Lines" movie. Similar appearance, background, and all that. I agree he should indeed play Niko if anyone is stupid enough to attempt a big screen adaption of a GTA game. lets hope R* and Take2 don't make this mistake. @ Dominico: I'm a huge fan of Jason Stathom. I first took real notice of him in the 1st Transpoorter movie, and have collected every movie I can find with him. He'd also be a good choice. (I disagreed with someone who said he'd make a great Prince Namor in the upcoming Submariner Movie, as I think Mat Damon has the facial features and acting skill to pull it off much better) I've often thought Jason would be a good charactor for the part of Niko, but I still hold that any movie adaption would only dissapoint us GTA gamers. although I have the opposite feelings for movie adaptions of comic book characters (especially since Chris Nolan has taken over directing for the batman and Superman movies,And the Marvel Universe is being brought together in many films for the upcoming Avengers Movie) I've always thought Stathom would play a good Niko, tho. Michelle Rodriguez would be good to play Catalina, Andrew Dice Clay I think he is too old too, Jason Stathom could be Niko but I prefer Vladimir Mashkov, they are more identical, Danny DeVito is funny but too old, Ray Liotta would be awesome to play Ray Boccino, everyone thinks George Clooney is sexy but I don't think so!! Dolf Lundgren was so hot I think he's too hot to play Dimitri, Lloyd Bridges is too old to play Jimmy (ooh, now that I'm realized.... you may be talking if the actors were young, instead of the actual age.....) Playboy X and Dwayne was totally a pointless thing in the story line... And yeah, IF justin beaver or bieber or whatever it is would play niko, he wouldnt be able to lift a handgun.. then he and usher would together have to lift a RPG..
