Help, how do u save?

Hello, I just recently installed GTA IV on my PC and began playing it a bit for a while. After doing a few missions, I went to save and it says u need to be logged in to that social rockstar club or something like that to save! WTH!? Can't I just save on HDD? Does this mean I need to have direct Internet connection to play this game properly?

Hello guys, I know how to save, it's just do i need to log into that social network thingy to save? Or is there anoher way to save game progress via another way that don't need IC?

This is exactly what I want!!!

 

...Except that I don't know where the save files are located....so if I had to uninstall it because of a reason and reinstall on another computer or same computer, I don't really want to start all over again...

 

I'll try what Tycek said, he or her's seem to be more to what I wanted then yours, sorry... Atleast for one thing, the save files are located where they have been like in GTA SA in you account documents folder. I'll try that, will post back the results...

C:\Users\Your user name\appdata\local\R* Games\GTA IV\Saved Games

 

don't know about xp, but if it the same method applies then it could be in

C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\local settings\application data\R* Games\GTA IV\saved games

Well, it's not there and instead saved in this location:

C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\user_1000100010001000

and it's suppose to be save in here:

C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames

I've already moved my previuos saved files using the windows life account and transfered it to that location above...the game said it could load that file! What the??--

 

But everything wlese works how it should though.

 

I also have other questions:

 

Note:

* run LaunchGTAIV.exe instead GTAIV.exe (to prevent "drunk" camera)

What does 'prevent drunk camera' mean?

 

-What's the dubugger thingy for?

-Why does the game sometimes don't work once I place the xlive.dll file there?

-Does this method clash with the other method that Gangxxter suggester because the pressing the home key doesn't work anymore...

-and this:

Installation:

* unpack the file xlive.dll into the game folder (don't forget to remove the asi loader if there is one)

Ahh. It sayed the same to me, i was completely upset because i hate going aaaaaaall the way to my safehouse, just to save the game.

 

So, i pressed ESC (I'm on the PC) then i went to the tab "Game" or something, and just enable autosave, easy as that, i dident bother me any problems so far.

Yeah, that automatically saves whenever you do a mission or hang out with friends or do a job for a friend.

 

Although if you're ever going by one of your safehouses you can always stop and go inside and "take a nap".

Hah, I looked up how to save offline because I don't have internet and I don't think GFWL installs and or create accounts without internet connection which is probably where he's coming from.....and I think IC in his post means internet connection.
