I created a new topic because i haven't found any other users running San Andreas on an Acer Aspire Netbook.

My Version has been legally downloaded from the Steam Client, which is fully updated.

When i first downloaded San Andreas (Roughly a year ago) From Steam, the game played perfectly well with the settings decreased to their lowest.

I logged over 30 hours of play without any crashing issues or any other issues.

One day i closed the game down as usual and the next time i came to play it, my save files had been wiped.

I started a new game, but the game would crash at random intervals, ranging from within the first minute, up to an hour or two.

I repeatedly started up new games with the same results. So i uninstalled all files of San Andreas and re-installed the game. (I have done this more than once, including deleting the user files folders)

I am left with the same issue, starting a new game and having a crash and error at random intervels, usually now crashing well within the first 15 minutes.

-------------------

If anyone has any suggestions or advice i would appreciate it very much.

If anyone would require more information that i have forgotton to supply please request what you need, i will be happy to supply it.

Jack

Sounds like your computer updated a System File and you need to delete only the GTA)SA.set file.

Since you have already deleted the game and reinstalled maybe you missed one step:

Here is a complete delete instructions:

If you're on Vista, you'll need to do this:

1) Uninstall SA.

2) Delete the installation folder if it still exists. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).

3) Delete the Virtual Store copy of the installation folder too. The Appdata folder might be hidden. (e.g. C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).

4) Delete the gta_sa.set file from your user files folder.

5) Reboot.

6) Reinstall SA.

First step would be to update your video drivers. Video drivers could be one reason why a game would crash randomly.

If that doesn't help, then check your netbook for overheating issue. Check the temps when you're running the game and when you're not running the game.

My Graphics Drivers and Audio Drivers are up to date,

And my laptop has adequate ventilation. I play Diablo 2 a lot on it, and it never overheats... Plus with San Andreas crashing within a minute of booting, i wouldn't think the laptop would be that hot so quickly.

Also as i stated i have logged over 20 hours of gameplay on San Andreas without fault or issue. It does seem like it may be an update problem. Though not with the steam client nor the game, i will try to rollback my drivers and see if that helps at all.

My issue is still unresolved and i would appreciate any more input.
