How to hide player?

I'm probably going to seem like a dumbass noob for asking this question, but how do you hide the player character? For example, let's say that I want a cutscene of the same actor as the player doing an animation. I can't do that if the player character is in the way, standing still, doing nothing. The only way I know of doing this is by teleporting the player somewhere else, make the cutscene, then teleport him back. That's tedious and glitchy. Is there a way to hide the player? I have seen it done before in many missions.

Actually, you can't hide player, but you can change his position so he will not be in front of the cutscene.

before the cutscene, teleport the player character away from the place where the cutscene will be.
