FOOTBALL MANAGER 2011 UNVEILED

Sports Interactive Confirm Football Manager 2011 Release This Year

LONDON (August 11th, 2010) – Sports Interactive & SEGA® Europe Ltd. today announced that Football Manager™ 2011 for PC and Apple Macintosh, and Football Manager Handheld™ 2011 for Sony PlayStation® Portable will be released before Christmas 2010. FM2011 will feature more new features than ever before, including real-time contract negotiation, a revamped training system and a number of match engine improvements, Football Manager 2011 will once again raise the bar for football management games.

Football Manager 2011 is the latest iteration of the award-winning Football Manager series. Selling in excess of 6 Million copies worldwide, Football Manager has been topping the UK PC charts for the last five years.

Football Manager 2011 will be more polished than ever this year, and Sports Interactive will again set a new standard for the genre by adding a host of new features. For the first time ever, aspiring managers can now negotiate contracts with players in real time. And by working with a multitude of real-life football agents, Sports Interactive gained an insight as to how these negotiations can be made as realistic as possible in-game. Prepare to meet different types of agents in your contract talks; each with their own personality so will therefore need a different approach.

“At Sports Interactive, we always strive to give the end-user the best experience possible,” said Miles Jacobson, Studio Director at Sports Interactive. “The training system for example has always been the best we thought it could be, until now. We’ve found a way to make it even better!”

With the implementation of the most intuitive training system in the series history, there is a new “match preparation” area of training so that managers can give their team specific areas to focus on in the lead up to a match. There are also more basic training schedules for players, and 14 different individual skill areas that you can focus your players

on.

Interaction with players, staff and the board have gone to a whole new level, with a host of new boardroom and backroom requests, a new player interaction module that allows the manager to have private conversations with players, as well as public conversations regarding players at other clubs.

Two years after the launch of the 3D Match Engine, players will see a number of improvements implemented for this year’s release. With over 100 new animations added, as well as more player emotions, new player models, new stadiums, pitch textures, improved lighting, floodlit night matches, more goal celebrations and lots of other extras which improve what was already the best match simulation on the market.

The other new features announced today include a revamped media module, which will keep the managers better up to date with events going on in their football world, as well as being more customisable than ever before, and the most requested feature that the Sports Interactive community have asked for in the last few years, dynamic league reputation, which makes for an even more realistic model of the footballing world.

Further new features will be announced via Twitter (@si_games), Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/officialfootballmanager), a series of blogs and the popular Football Manager Podcast in the months leading up to the game’s release. With more new features than anyone could ever fit in a press release, Football Manager will retain its position as the most realistic, most played, annually best selling, and highest reviewed football management simulation in the world.

PLEASE NOTE - THESE ARE ONLY THE FIRST FEATURES TO BE ANNOUNCED FOR THE GAME AND IS IN NO WAY A FULL, OR EVEN NEARLY FULL, FEATURE LIST.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE - discussions that aren't about what was announced today, or questions about things that haven't been announced today, will be completely ignored, so it's pointless posting them. Thank you for your understanding.

New Features 1

New Features 2

To be released on the 5th of November. I personally can't wait. All of the new improvements seem like a huge step in the right direction, the only way is up forthe football manager series...

I watched some videos, and it doesn't look very much different then 2010 version, so i'll stick with the 2010. At September 2028 atm, got to win the WC 2030. tounge.gif

Same actually. My style of management means that I like to blood young talent. Currently in 2056 managing Litex in Bulgaria, hopefully to the Euro Cup final.

And yes Tommy, we do spend hours on the game. It's not our fault that it's so damn immersive! tounge.gif

Maybe we can merge the two?

I thought I was bad managing in 2020. Playing as Pescara still, my last season ended with 2nd in Serie A (f*cking Genoa) and Champions League quarter final (f*cking Madrid).

I wouldn't have made a new topic if I had known about the one that already exists, my bad.

As for your predicament with the nearly men of Pescara, think yourself lucky, you'd think that a guy who had won every competition under the sun in Europe, Asia and South America and is currently top of the hall of fame would be able to get a job! Apparently they'd rather not have a guy who won the Champion's League 4 times in a row with 4 different teams. Instead they take a f*cking nobody who has only just retired after a middling career in the Finnish Premier League.

It's not fair dammit!

Wow you've got quite a record lol. The most I've managed to win in over 10 years of management in Sweden and Italy in my current game is a solitary Italian Cup (along with an Italian Super Cup). I also won the Gold Cup while managing U.S.A. and took them to the second round in the 2018 World Cup (which the U.S. was hosting; I was a bit disappointed to go out here but the U.S. football association were happy).

I love how- more than any other league it seems- promotion in Italy brings a lot of money through sponsorship. When I took control of them all those years back they were worth a few million (which seemed quite a lot given how the team I managed before them was Umea FC in Sweden, worth a few thousand) but now they are one of the richest in Europe at £125million. Recently reached 500 games with them, I'm defo gonna try take control of em once again on Football Manager 2011 (and maybe in Fifa 11 now they are in Serie B IRL tounge.gif). Seeing as the next game is out in just over two months, I'm aiming for a European/Domestic double within the next couple of years while my top players (Zigoni, Destro, Verratti and Subotic) are still at their peak.

One guy reached 2150 or so, beat that.

Just got a job at Lokomotiv Moscow last night. I have plenty of time left to make it to 2150 but I reckon that by then my entire game would have gone completely down the sh*tter loading time wise.

Only thing is with games that long is having teams full of regens. Regens are boring. I only have 2 in my current team, the rest are players who started out at like 16-19 lol.

I like playing the LLM way, so as realistic as possible, meaning that I trust my scouts even though they are probably awful. And I don't scour the good team guides. I love regens as it gives me a chance to completely mould a person. Anyone here ever had a stadium named after them? Or had a son come through your team's ranks?

Retired and uninstalled FM10 a week ago.. craving my fix now

I seriously need my FM. I remember when I uninstalled FM08 to buy FM10. Reinstalled it 2 days later after being unable to fill my days otherwise. Good luck in curing your addiction mate. tounge.gif

And the game is coming out in shops tomorrow in the UK. I personally can't wait. Especially looking forward to the agents piece. Althogh it could be due to my inherent FM wages masochism.

Haven't played FM'10 for around 2 weeks now, due to lack of time but I reckon that I can find a bit of extra time on release day.

Not yet bought. I'm going to wait until christmas. But until then FM10 is on in the background of my internet escapades tonight and I plan on going through the night with lots of caffeinated beverages as I'm currently on for a quadruple!

I'm ashamed as well, turns out I didn't even buy it yet.

My financial situation is just so balls I can't afford to keep buying games at the minute. Bought Mass Effect 2 after a long time of renting, RDR, Fallout 3 DLC and soon to be New Vegas, and most likely Cataclysm. My wallet is a lot emptier now..

Regardless, I started a new FM 10 save a while ago and getting into it again. Installed the 2010 summer transfer and league updates.. so no reason to buy FM 11 yet. I probably won't even.

That was my original plan. But the great thing about not having left home yet is that my parents will stump up the £25 or so that I need. But with FM10 being a great game and all I doubt I'll miss it too much. I certainly won't be pining for it!
