DB Chaoticz 0
Bringing back a favorite, and a classic. How can you hate this song?
Slamman 130
I love them, that song is as epic as everyone has said, and it's Don Felder who wrote it with Joe Walsh's part in mind, Don Henley penned the lyrics, so it's always something Felder can take pride in, despite the falling out, which was UGLY as all hell, sad fact of the matter. I got some ZZ to throw Trip's way, and this was on the radio the past week or two, inspiring me! If you missed Don's book, which is a winner really, this two part interview sums up his story from there If you have enuff free time, listen to these interview collections all in one setting! NICE, I've not seen the DVD or this upload before ^ Edited April 8, 2012 by Slamman

Slamman 130
I was a mere laddie when the Truckin' CB radio craze was in full swing. Ahhhhhh, I loved all those tunes too. I used to draw 18 wheelers in my earliest years, but as I was able to drive, no more interest in being a truck driver, I prefer simple driving mechanics behind the wheel! haha Terrible at parallel parking, so..... I wanted to add to the Van Halen topic because Esquire magazine I believe has a very cool interview and article on Edward VH, as well as I see a special issue all about VH on American News stands here, add to that I heard a Gene Simmons soundbite on radio where he was asking Gene to join KISS, could not put up with DLR's antics at the time, circa 1983, but Gene said he was too identifiable to be just a hired gun in the band. RUSH fans?? Gotta give this another spin, er, Stream.... Edited May 2, 2012 by Slamman
Korpi 1,140
Anyone else digging Jarre's composions? The guy was way ahead of he's time. A musical genius. Plus he's a good looking dude, I gotta give him that. Reminds me a little bit of young Judd Nelson somehow, heh. This particular track "Équinoxe Part 4" is my personal favorite from him. "Oxygene (Part IV)" is also one of my favorites, you guys might remember that one the best.

trip 14,493
@Chunk - I got to see Bowie a few times back in the day. Last time would have been early 80s for 'The Serious Moonlight' tour. @universetwisters - ahhhh maybe it's just me, but that song always kind of dragged on me. anyway....I'm sitting here with my entire 2TB NAS full of MP3s on random. Very mixed crap to say the least. This just came on:

Nothing beats listening to it on a rainy day I hear ya. I think I may be a bit jaded towards it since I had to deal with it too much [thanks to my folks] while growing up, and then later in life there was a dude that lived in our shared house that played and sang it too much on his guitar. If I'm gonna pick a Gorndon Lightfoot song, I think I would default to Sundown.

And I guess the long, droning tune to the WOTEF is good on one way or another, especially the parodies!
Chunk 9
@Chunk - I got to see Bowie a few times back in the day. Last time would have been early 80s for 'The Serious Moonlight' tour. Really? That's awesome. I would have done anything to get to one of his concerts back then. He really is a fantastic performer.

That's awesome. I would have done anything to get to one of his concerts back then. He really is a fantastic performer. Totally good times. I was still on the younger side, so I may have missed out on some of the special activities that make concerts just that much better;) Music is huge where I live, so I've been lucky with who I've gotten to see. Naturally, at the time I didn't think to appreciate it as much as I do now. Also...record sales still played a part in a bands revenue, so going to a big name concert was only like $8-$12. It was like "go to the movies this weekend or go see Journey?" I actually met my wife at a CSN show that I just randomly decided to stop in at. And in keeping with the thread. Korpi 1,140
Yes, it is Sylvester Stallone singing. His younger brother Frank Stallone is a professional singer, who has appeared in many tv shows and films too. Sly Stallone performing "Too Close to Paradise" from the Paradise Alley (1978) motion picture he starred in. Seriously, if you're a fan and haven't heard him sing before, you need to listen to this song. I personally like the song and think that Sly sings good. Some people might have different opinions about that one - I guess that I'm too big of a fan to not like it. Edited November 30, 2012 by Markwey

Trillest 606
The Logical Song by Supertramp is one of my favorites from this period brcususe it brings back great memories of my childhood. I'll never forget the first time I heard it, in my dad's truck heading to school on a beautiful Spring morning. Songs can be wonderful time capsules.
