What old games deserves a remake.

Ah man Urban Chaos was fun, another pre GTA3 3D free roam game!

I reckon the original Smugglers Run could do with a remake, we all remember how amazing the draw distance was right? What other modern game series has this claim to fame? Just Cause and its sequel, imagine that sort of setting but with a proper focus on vehicle handling and just plain old smuggling! Even if we still get those annoying supercops you cannot deny their ability to challenge, something modern games are lacking imo.

Zelda: Link to the Past

They already did twice. Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess are close enough in my book to call re-makes. All awesome games, though.

I'd like to see Resident Evil 2 and 3 get the treatment that the first game did. Or maybe remake them with the same style of 4.

The first Splinter Cell as well as Pandora Tomorrow could do with an update. I leave Chaos Theory out, because it's pretty much perfect.

I don't know about a "redo" for plot and settings but the following games would be awesome if they were remade with better graphics and gameplay. Other than the older GTA games I would love to see the following:

Hyper Zone (SNES)

Star Fox (SNES)

Star Fox 64 (N64)

Super Metroid (SNES)

Super Mario All-Stars (SNES) This might actually happen. I wish they would add Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine to this collection.

Twisted Metal (PSOne)

Twisted Metal 2 (PSOne)

Twisted Metal III (PSOne)

Twisted Metal: Small Brawl (PSOne)

Spyro The Dragon (PSOne)

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (PSOne)

Spyro: Year Of The Dragon (PSOne)

Rampage: World Tour (PSOne or N64)

Rampage: Universal Tour (PSOne or N64)

Crash Bandicoot (PSOne)

Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strike's Back (PSOne)

Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (PSOne)

Super Mario 64 (N64)

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time (N64)

Doom (PC)

Doom II (PC)

Wolfenstein 3D (PC)

Duke Nukem 3D (PC)

Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault (PC)

Half-Life (PC)

Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza (PC)

Crash Bandicoot (PSOne)

Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strike's Back (PSOne)

Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (PSOne)

I don't mean to come off as a dick or anything, but why do these games need graphical updates?

They look damn fine as is. Seeing Crash's fur and HD WATER DROPLETS is really unnecessary. Now, if you said FFVII, I would totally understand. That game would certainly benefit from updated textures and....everything. FF games are cinematic, so pretty much all of their games would benefit from it. But FFVII the most.

The games characters looked laughable when I played it, and the backgrounds looked baaaaaad. I got used to it, but holy sh*t that was turribul. Just turribul.

That's really the only game I can think of. I guess RE4 could benefit (or at least entertain) if it were to receive the RE1-3 treatment. Now THAT would be a remake in the TRUEST sense of the f*cking word. But please make the camera, uhh....good. The RE1 Remake did it pretty well.

Wasteland

The game that inspired the Fallout series, needs to be remade.

The original developer, Brian Fargo has the rights to Wasteland. He owns inXile Entertainment, the main site of which has what looks like Wasteland concept art at the top. What is unknown is when he's going to make use of the Wasteland license, and if for a Wasteland remake or Wasteland 2.

He also said that unlike The Bard's Tale remake, whatever he does with the Wasteland license will be much more true to the original game, a "more traditional RPG".

Doom (PC)

That's Doom 3 in a nutshell.

And Half-Life Source is what you might be looking for.

Half-Life Source is hardly a remake. It's almost the exact same as the original game but stuck on a different engine.

Also, didn't id Software say something about Doom 4 being a lot like Doom II? They said it won't be a sequel to Doom 3 and it won't be a proper remake of Doom 1, they hinted at Doom II quite a lot IIRC.

Redneck Rampage inlove.gif - I missing so much this game

Project I.G.I. - what a great game was, sad the sequel was wrosed, hard I could play it.

I really would like to see a remake of Scarface: The World is Yours with HD graphics, better physics, and multiplayer. Cubans versus Columbians in multiplayer modes for the win! A Free Mode would also be fun, and that one helicopter should be flyable. Oh, and don't forget about adding the ability to jump and climb.

Yes actually. Scarface was a good game (kinda like revisiting Vice City but with much better graphics) I'd love to see it remade a long with The Warriors. Two of the last games that came out before current gen.

Pandemonium and the original Unreal (not Tournament).

EDIT:

Interstate '76

Oh god yes. Amazing game that I would love to see brought up to today's standards.

Loved that game, and I would definetly buy a remake of it, as long as they have new quotes!

Personally, I think a remake of the Starsky & Hutch game would be very nice to play, of course, with much improved graphics.

Just remembered another couple

Toejam and Earl

Hard Drivin'

Road Rash 1 & 2

Eve of Extinction

Psi-Ops: Mind Gate Conspiracy

True Crime: NYC

True Crime: LA

The Bouncer

Legaia 2: Duel Saga

Ephemeral Fantasia

Vigilante 8: Second Offense

I'll have to look through my PSOne and Super Nintendo games. I know there's a SNES game I would love to see re-made, I just can't for the life of me remember what it's called.

I'm in agreement with what has already been posted; Urban Chaos, GTA: San Andreas and GTA: Vice City should definately have current-gen versions.

Others:

- True Crime

- Driver (I am aware there is new Driver in the works)

- Evil Dead

- Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks

- Dino Crisis

Far Cry

It was great in the beginning but it started to suck after the monsters started to appear.

I'd also like a remake of the following games:

GTA 1

GTA 2

GTA 3

GTA 3 Series games

Another World\Out of This World 2 (they remade the first one but not this one)

Vietnam: Black Ops

For starters:

- III era of GTA (all games on IV engine)

- Duke Nukem 3D, Time To Kill & Zero Hour

- Resident Evil 2,3

- Tomb Raider 2

- Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012

- Twisted Metal

- Toy Story 2

- Fighting Force

- Syphon Filter 1,2

- Apocalypse

- Hitman 1,2,3

- Bugs Bunny Lost in Time

- DiscWorld series

- MDK

- Mortal Kombat 3

And can't think of more catspider.gif
