Big update coming soon...

After being on holidays in Florida,

Lookin around at the typical american lifestyles rockstar games cameo,

I'd like to discuss various features and general themes that might

be introduced in the next Gta.

My prediction is it will be in the south with vice included, im not

asking anyone to believe me or to go along with it if you dont want to,

but some predictions of what you think might be included could be

funny. Im not american just like R* North, I can see plenty of cameos and

features which could be based on florida and the south in general, examples.

There's tons of people bombing around in these,

Its rare to see anyone back at home rollin in one of these apart from

someone who is really disabled. Taking a rip in one these and mowing people

down in them to me = funny sh*t. (c'mon its gta)

Reintroduction of racetracks and speedways?? Daytona Speedway.

Gta's first fully fledged working theme park??

maybe a made up name for a equivilant to "disneyland" but in the gta universe.

"BratLand"????

imagine the rip the piss cameo they could do of this, maybe some beverly hills

cop style missions.

Then of course the main City, Vice City (Miami)

And instead of the dead beaches in IV there will be plenty of these bitches to run over..

New Orleans could also be included in the south roster.

Seems like a great place!! Agree?? Even the police department!!

Ha ha, great man, i'll add that to the list,

Jesus that would be f*cking unreal.

Imagine foiling a space launch or stealing

a rocket... f*ck

Also, not only mowing people down driving one of thos electric scooters,

imagine milling through a croud of people in a car smashing those things about.

Not just Florida, but in my opinion Louisiana, Tennessee, Georgia and other southern states offer some great opportunities for GTA.

Yep your right, I dont know much info about specific features/attractions they can cameo from those states apart from the general vibe they offer.

This scenario just has to be my number one choice for GTA V, especially if it includes anything mentioned here - all awesome ideas...except maybe the theme park, because disneyland = kids, and personally for me kids in GTA is a big no no.

I think VC, New Orleans and Atlanta would be a logical 3-city map, with everything from the Mississippi to the Carolinas, down to the Florida Keys.

I agree with you that there will be no kids in GTA, but a parody theme park of Universal or Busch Gardens any of em wouldnt have to have kids, same way it doesnt feel out of place not having em anywhere else in GTA.

Could be some fun minigames to do in a park also.

VC, New Orleans and Atlanta would be great also with the included country sides of not just the cities.

I really believe this is a logical step for Rockstar to take, when you really think about.

Like I want Vice City, but just Vice city would be boring to us now.

This way its kinda like Vice City and Sanandreas in one. The variety of SA aka countrysides and cities and it opens up a whole new theme for Rockstar to run on and write stories with especially for future DLC.

A protag from another state coming to the south for the first time to explore and make it big, aka the main or 1st protag.

A protag from Vice city or Atlanta.

A protag from the Country, a Country boy (New Orleans or something).

The 1st protag is always displayed as not knowing his way around just like the player, this is his first time finding his way around the map maybe hes from the West or East or maybe even Columbia or something, but i doubt the protag this time around will be foreign to the states.

Official General

@ Comsic Boy - You are very right. Just having Vice City alone in the next GTA game would be a little boring now, seeing as we've already had that. Even though GTA 4 was not as big as San Andreas, it still included another state/city other than Liberty City, which of course was Alderney. Plus, with much better and advanced console technology at this time, we gamers are now more used to seeing much larger, sprawling environments in open-world, free-roaming games like GTA.

I would very much like to see the next GTA game set in mostly in a modern-day Vice City, but also in one whole state that is similar in landscape, natural environment and climate to Florida and 2 other Southern US states like Georgia and Louisiana. Just like how San Andreas incorporates real-life influences from 2 different states (California and Nevada) and 3 different cities (Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas). I think the geographical plans for this idea are well illustrated in Kwandilibro's GTA: Southland concept which can be read on this particular part of the forum.

* There should be 3 major cities within this mythical Southern state. Vice City would obviously be based on Miami. The second city would be based on Atlanta. The third city would be based New Orleans. Each main city will have its own unique feel, atmosphere and character.

* The rest of the smaller lesser-known cities and towns will be dotted in various locations all over the proposed state.

* There should have some small offshore islands present for possible smuggling activities.

* Different parts of the state will have different laws and rules, depending on the county. Also differences in different law enforcement officials depending on the area.

* There should be a variety of natural environments within the game that realistically reflect that of the real-life southern USA. For instance, there will be mainly lowlands with forests, woodlands, swamps, marshes, plains, countryside, farmland, rivers, lakes, beaches and coastal areas.

* Wildlife should be included to add more to the realness of the natural environment, just like in Red Dead Redemption. For example animals you'd typically see in Florida and the rest of the southern USA like alligators, fishes, herons, pumas, bears, deer, snakes, bobcats etc.

* A whole state should make for a very epic and interesting storyline, with tons of varied and fun gameplay elements

Thats what I would put on the table.

Thanks for all the info official general,

I will work on those ideas when i get home on making the thread a bit better, but i'd like to add this is not really a concept thread, im not really into wotking on too specific of details as these guesses are loosely based on what could be included with this prediction.

Im on a image limit at the moment so i'll work in photoshop when im home to combine images etc and structure the ideas more.

Cheers man. smile.gif

I think the south would be a great place for GTA, provided it's done right. For example, the most varied environment in the south IMO would be VC, ATL, NO, and maybe Houston or something (although it should probably be Eastern Texas). And it absolutely does need a large countryside area with animals.

However, ii will refrain from advertising my thread, and thus, hijacking this one.

  • 4 months later...

I'm liking the Miami/Atlanta/New Orleans idea. After the gritty and gray Liberty City, I don't think that the next game will be set in the North. And having been to Florida many times, I'd say that the South, as a GTA setting, is a great contrast to just about everything in Liberty City -- it's warm, it's sunny, it's sprawling, there's lots of guns, you need a car to do anything (no taxicabs or subways down there!), and it's got that cultural conservatism that Rockstar loves to parody. And it allows Rockstar to return to the countryside, and after seeing what they did with it in Red Dead Redemption, I can't wait to go back to it. And Miami, Atlanta and New Orleans are the three cities that best symbolize the pop culture South -- Miami is the Vice City, Atlanta is the "New South" (and the Dirty South), and New Orleans is in a class all its own.

In addition to Miami, Atlanta and New Orleans, if the next GTA game were to be set in the South, I think that, at the very least, the following places should be included:

  • Orlando, Florida (mostly for the theme parks)
  • Daytona Beach, Fort Myers Beach or Panama City Beach, Florida (the drunken Spring Break getaway)
  • Savannah, Georgia or Charleston, South Carolina (the traditional "Old South")
  • Mississippi or Alabama (the "Deep South")

Good work man,

If you think logically about what rockstar are thinking

They need some countryside to freshen the series again.

Still need to stay in the U.S.A

Need to bring planes back

It's too early for S.A that's gonna be massive and on next gen.

And most of all they need to surprise and not disappoint.

They won't disappoint people who want vice and they won't disappoint people who want something fresh.

Rockstar like to play on stories from fIlms, scarface, boys in the hood etc.

Maybe it will feature similarities to bad boys, maybe like the 2nd film a little trip to Cuba for some mischief smile.gif

What I look forward to most though is the deep south style cities you mentioned.

Foookin mayhem!!
