Linki
So I've been seeing a lot of tension among this board, primarily centered around the wait for the next GTA. But who said R* was making another GTA? I don't remember them saying anything about it. I think you guys have become used to GTA being released so often over the past decade that you don't need R* to announce it's existence. So when you started to realise they HAVEN'T announced it, you become ballistic and curse R*. "Hurr were is new gta WTF??" Then you see R* trying to make other games instead of just GTA, this makes you upset. "F*CK AGENT F*CK RDR F*CK MAX PAYNE 3 I WANT GTA" Sure, R* will eventually make another GTA. In a few years. So don't hold your breath and suffocate yourselves in your own delusions. Racecarlock
While I wouldn't have said it exactly like he did, he's got a point. Overhype is very very bad for games. Remember how big rigs overhyped itself on the back of its box? And think about every other over rated title you've played over the years. Rome wasn't built in a day, you know. Besides, agent sounds cool (makes me wish I had a ps3), and L.A. Noire looks good. Besides, other sandbox games exist people. Maybe you should try them. TheBlackProject
I totally agree with both users above me, and what you're about to read is quite worth it while waiting for the next GTA. I am a filmer, people from my school love to see my work every now and then; but if I release with a few errors then what is the point of releasing it? I also do porn shooting, for seniors. Other seniors love to see them, but I have to edit them here and there (blur this part, porn look, etc), if it's bad then the porn will just be boring, although it's actually meant to show the other seniors what's going on, but you get the point. For the wait of the next GTA, or whatever R* plans to release; do some stuff! I'll make a list of examples. 1. Aren't there other extremely hyped games coming out very soon? Instead of complaining for GTA NeXT, buy those and use it as your wait time! 2. Buy the entire GTA III pack, do not play them in order from first released to last released, but instead play them in year format. For example, Vice City Stories took place way before GTA III, although GTA III was the first GTA released in that era. For those of you that are lazy, I'll just make the damn list. GTA: Vice City Stories, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, GTA: Liberty City Stories, GTA III. There you go, I never tried this format but it sounds so good because this format is in the year the game takes place, so the list goes: 1984 (VCS), 1986 (VC), 1992 (SA), 1998 (LCS), 2001 (III). This way makes the III era's story much easier to understand and much more interesting. 3. Play GTA IV, all over again. By far this has to be the easiest one, once you reach to the second mission of Packie, stop and play The Lost and Damned, finish it then continue GTA IV. Keep playing until you finish the robbery mission, then stop and play The Ballad of Gay Tony, then finish GTA IV from there. This should definitely take a while and eat up the wait time for the next GTA. 4. Play some of the other stuff already released by R*, like Midnight Club: Los Angeles (it looks like a sh*tty remake of LA btw), or Red Dead Redemption, how about some Bully? 5. Then come back here and complain that you've done all these things, say that Black Ops turned out to suck or all these hyped games got boring, so you no longer can chew up your wait time. But this shouldn't happen, but thanks for reading this anyway; I hope this helps! But who said R* was making another GTA? I don't remember them saying anything about it. Not really. You might wanna check again on that one. No, I'm pretty certain about that. Nov 13, 2009Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser confirmed to The Times that a new Grand Theft Auto will be made. "We'll think of a city first, then the characters," said Houser. No specific details were confirmed. If that's not a confirmation of a new GTA, I must be a small suspension bridge. Words of a wise man, "Hop off the gomlcopter." For R* to do absolutely nothing all that time regarding GTA would be absurd. And don't even bring up EFLC. They finished that right after they finished IV. .Ryan.
This is the way I see it. Agent was announced in 2007 a couple of months after the official announcement for GTA IV, and is only a PS3 exclusive. R* North are the developers. LA Noire is only being published by R*. The developer is Team Bondi. Max Payne 3 is being developed by R* Vancover. RDR was developed by R* North, and San Diego, but the DLC packs for it are almost done. So when you take a long, hard think about it R* North (The soul developers of GTA) are only committing themselves to Agent, and since it's a console exclusive that was announced 3 years ago how long would it take the make it? R* are a big company with many sectors that are quite capable of multi tasking. I seriously doubt R* have done sfa in the last couple of years in regards to GTA Next/V. Linki
@Miami: I understand you, but there is also a major flaw in that post. If R* North announced Agent 3 years ago, then they already started making it a year beforehand (games start early) meaning it's been in production 4 years ago. 4 years ago was 2006. North were busy making GTA 4 at that time, so they probably put Agent aside. Fast forward 2 years, 4 is released. North now start up Agent again, which leads to it being announced at e3 09. I also doubt that North have been doing f*ck all for the past few years, but that doesn't mean they've been making GTA 5. @Kwandilibro: I did it again? Did what again? mkey82
Christ, the only ones making sense in this thread is Linki and Miamivicecity and you're still telling him to shut up? This board is so full of fanboy trolls it's disgusting. Let's be real, Hoser likes to build up tension by doing absolutely nothing and saying sh*t about sh*t, this is the way his mind works. He just allows the lack of information to do its own. Also, GTAIV cost a lot to make and they managed to squeeze 1.5 to 2 games out of it. They will probably want to do more before this console generation is done with as otherwise they'll have to start making everything anew and that's gonna be expensive. This being said, I doubt it the next GTA will be named anything with a V, it's more probable they'll use the name of a city or a region in the title. toplad
I'm as optimistic as the next man when it comes to the announcement of GTA V. I log on to these forums regularly hoping to see a new forum category GTA *Insert City Name Here*, but I have a feeling it could be quite some time before that happens! It's obvious there will be another GTA game, but when? Who knows? As previously mentioned, R* love the hype, and they're doing a good job of creating it at the moment, although it's slowly turning into frustration for a lot of people! VickeX
"Management declined to state when the game will launch, but has confirmed to us that the game is in development, has been for over a year, and is using the same game “engines” as the last version." Pachter said. "Management also told us that the team at Rockstar North is highly motivated to get the game out, and that the team understands that its highest payday will come from working on GTA instead of any other game." This piece of news was posted 2009. Sure many people think Pachter is just a douchebag analyst stating the obvious, but he does have big insight into the managment departments of alot of the big game companies, and with no doubt have contact with big ones like Rockstar. But this is fact. True information... At first it was surely just a small team devoted to it, and then people go between projects. Obviously the main focus at North has got to be at Agent at this moment... My guess is that they have got mainly environment artists on the next GTA now, as the environment parts of the Agent development should be close to done. Whilst Agent is being finished, another team could be working on making the best city they can for the next GTA, and go on brainstorm meetings about features and stuff like that. But mainly, in regards to the main focus of this topic. Bleh on you, it is in development. Maybe not the main focus for North at the moment, but still in development.
