-GTA IV - Graphic Issues - Decent PC-

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So I'm a frustrated user trying to get my GTAIV to work properly on my PC.

Currently there is so much lag that it just makes it unplayable. Literally, I'll hit W to move and about a second to two seconds later the game finally responds.

ALL of my graphic settings are on LOW. Draw Distance, etc. are on 1. Resolution is 800x600.

It also says I'm using 203/509mb.

PC SPECS:

Gateway DX4300-11 (Bought in January of 2010)

AMD Phenom II x4 805 Quad Core @ 2.5ghz/core

8gb DDR 2 RAM

1tb HDD

ATi Radeon HD 3200 - 512 shared VRam

Windows 7 - Home Premium - 64-bit

I curiously glanced at CPU usage while playing and it said my CPU usage was only 33%. I'm just wondering if maybe the game isn't using all my available resources? Because honestly, I think my Specs are pretty good. Especially since they meet the recommended settings. I've seen SOB's running this game with 256vram cards with Pentium 4 Processors. Why can't my Quad Core run it?

Rockstar please help.

OH ALSO - I updated my game to the latest version, and I just updated my ATi Drivers. No change.

There's no Rockstar here to help you, there hasn't been one for a while. Well, at least not if the likes of Mick Jagger are secretly GTAF members and like to respond on these places which I'm unaware of.

Seriously, your so called GPU sucks so much, it's not even funny. It's an integrated graphics adapter which doesn't even have any memory of it's own, but it draws from the system RAM, in a slow fashion. The one who built this PC is an asshole an should be put down. That built in graphics processor is so bad, it's not even on the list here

and if it were it would be somewhere on the bottom. Honestly, it's a wonder the game even runs on it. You should investigate the option to upgrade your PC with a proper gaming GPU, even though it's questionable if your PSU has enough power.
