TopAz Posted September 19, 2010 Share Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) Just do the things step by step in the following to play GTA 4 properly: 1.Install Fresh Copy of Windows XP SP2(RECOMMENDED) 2.Install .Net Framework 3.5 sp1 and download MS Chart.(RECOMMENDED) 3.Scan the whole PC(Your Wish) 4.Before Installing XP make a backup copy of gta 4 save file 5.Then install gta 4 6.After installing got to gta 4 install directory. 7.In gta 4 directory click right click then new then text document. 8. In text document you should get something like this "New Text Document.txt" change it and make it like this "GTA4.bat" 9.Then right click on the BAT file and then click edit. 10.Write this in the edit: @echo off cd/dvd "Path to the folder" start /high LaunchGTAIV.exe 11. And then make a shortcut by right click on the gta4.bat and then create shortcut. 12. And then move the file in desktop. 13. Right click on the shortcut and type on the target after the directory "-norestrictions -memrestrict 1029145600 -minspecaudio -DX9" 14. Run the game if freeze occurs press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and on the task manager kill the process LaunchGta4.exe. Note: There should be two process GTA4.exe and LaunchGta4.exe kill only LaunchGta4.exe. 15. If you cannot go into the task manager for freezing do this : (A) Go to run and type regedit (B) Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE © Then CurrentControlSet (D) Then CONTROL (E) Then Session Manager (F) Then Memory Management (G) Double-Click the memory management and you will notice on the text is DisablePagingExecutive. mkey82 Posted September 20, 2010 Share Posted September 20, 2010 There is no DX9 commandline switch for GTAIV and the value "1029145600" is highly system specific. I.e. it may work for you, but it won't work for most. Firstly, I can only play gta 4 for 10-15 min and then the freezing blizzard occur.
