Demon Character

This is a low poly character I made, it is 720 polygons and the texture is 128*128. It's not at all in the style of SA, but I'm considering making a map and some other stuff in the same style as this guy.

To start, yes it would be better in Vice, I'm only doing this model for SA because that's all I have at the moment. I'll probably end up working on a somewhat large mod for Vice City that will use low resolution graphics (because I like the style and it's quick).

 

Second, no this model is not from HL1, here's a picture of the mesh to use to compare.

If that's not enough to satisfy, then wait for the download link if you really want to confirm that I didn't steal this model

 

 

As for the body, the models rigging isn't too good yet, and the texture will be improved upon ( it was a pretty quick job), if it's the model itself you think sucks, I don't know what to tell you, because I probably won't change it.

Made a new body texture, and am releasing it. I'll call this version 0.7 , still a couple problem with the rig, but he's looking alright.

Sorry, the old link didn't have all the files it needed, the new link does. Replace the files in player.img with the ones in the download, then change into the gimp suit. To instantly change to the gimp suit type bekknqv during game play.

i wanna ask you this;

 

why you insist in damn low poly and quality models? i think couse well R* models are already the hell fked up and bad, why someone would wonder even more low quality(pixelated) peds with a polycount barely reaching 200/300 polys?

The reasons I enjoy working with low poly models are:

 

1. They present an interesting challenge, and that is to try to get the best possible appearance out of the least polys / texture space.

 

2. I enjoy the stylistic aspect of it, and have an appreciation for pixel art.

 

3. It's a very quick and efficient way to get something done.

 

It's not as if I can't make higher detail models, I'm alright with Z-brush and plan on making several current generation characters over the next few months. I just want to make a mod with low res graphics because I love the style, and it would be something vastly different from all of the other mods going.

It's perfectly understandable vans, most people go for the opposite of what I'm doing.

im whit u, i also like the lowpoly style, its a really easy way to work tounge.gif and u can give to your model the best quality by working in its textures, so if u are good in texturising, then u will get awesomeon Lp models (low poly)
