The Ballad Of Gay Tony.

Hi all I've been playing GTA since I first play'd GTA3, I have all 3 on the PS3 and had all of them on the PS2 when the PS3 came out I like manny others was hoping for a great game and Rockstar did't let me down. Untill The Ballad Of Gay Tony. Don't get me wrong the game itself was great, it was both hard and fun to play and the story line was fine too. But who in the world came up with the idea to put in a 100% target for each mission I can only hope some one got fired for that idea . I think there are people out there who have done it, but they would have gone through a controller or two.

Let us hope that they do not make the same mistake with GTA5.

Because there are gamers out there who like a challenge and not every gamer wants it to be piss easy.

Think about it, there was also a 80% goal as well for those who struggle to get every mission standard and requirement perfect.

I personally think it was a good idea because as i said, most gamers like a challenge and with this 100% goal, it gives them that challenge and they also get rewarded at the end of it so it seems like they didn't do it for nothing. You can't really bash at R* for wanting their fans/players needing a challenge can you?

Sure enough there are also gamers out there who just like to complete the storyline at their own pace and that is fine, that is why there is also the 80% goal. It's just like the achievement (Xbox 360)/Trophy (PS3) where you have to complete the game in 30 game days (or hours, which ever one it is) because it is a challenge and believe me i tried that one and it is f*cking hard if you don't play 24/7.

I get the challenge part and going for 100% of the game I have done it with the other GTA's I just don't get the 100% per mission.

I play the game alot and like playing it I just can't get the 100% per mission. Is there a trick to it or somthing?

It was a good idea that got implemented in the game, it didn't force anyone to achieve 100% completion and it had no affect on progressing the story. It was there to add longevity to the game and give gamers that extra challenge after completing the storyline, plus it was a good way of playing missions without having to go through the story again from the beginning (the only thing lacking was the starting mission cut scene).

The same thing got added to Red Dead Redemption as well and i'd expect them to add it to the next GTA.

I guess I just can't do it then. It's the time I seem to find hard to beat I hope I can get it I love the GTA game's. The problem I have is that I have to do thing's in a way, If I don't I have to start again. It's the way my ABI work's.

PS: Is there an easy way to get 100% per mission, everthing elas I can do.

I changed my mind. If this is what rockstar think's will make GTA game's better then they may as well stop making them at all. To get 100% of the game done you have to get 100% per mission now how manny people out there do you think can do that. I've played this game through and done each mission at least 20 time's And I can't do it nor can I do the cage fighting past level 4. The Ballad Of Gay Tony is the worst game in GTA since GTA3 and now I hear Red Dead Redemption has the 100% mission thing too, I guess rockstar has gorn as far as they can go.

Have you got 100% in each mission and if so any pointer's?

I haven't but I'm eventually going to get through and at least do each one to 80%.

Watch the GTAseries videos -

they get to 100% in each one. And take a look at the list of things at the end of each mission on the rainbow screen -- what is it looking for eg. headshots, accuracy, quick time.

Initially I did not enjoy having TBoGT shove it's assessment of my performance in my face after every mission. Especially after I felt that I had employed my own cunning and ingenuity to find the best way to complete each mission.

I found that the stats used for each mission were generally mutually exclusive. For instance I felt that it would be more or less impossible to achieve the necessary accuracy and/or headshot count while still completing the mission within the required time. (And some of the mission time targets are very, very demanding).

But then although I was aware of the mission replay feature, I did not realise at the time that each time you played any given mission it would only store the best of any individual statistic. So one could play a mission through to achieve the accuracy stat and play it through again sacrificing accuracy for time.

As it turned out this has proven to add to replayability. And I have to think a little more to play missions through in different ways. It ended up being a plus.

I think this has actually made me better at the game and I hope they keep them in there.

I started out only getting 100% in 3-4 of the missions. Now I can get 100% in all the missions except Going Deep in 1 try.

If you wish to get 100% there are several ways to do it. First you can get 1 part of the mission at a time. So the first time you can go for the time. Just rush through the mission. Then go for headshots on another try. Then go for accuracy and so forth.

I used the vids that Barry Spock posted to be able to get 100% on a lot of them, but I have found there are several better way on certain missions to make it easier. Those vids have several routes that are way faster than the GPS route that the game gives you.

I don't understand why anyone would hate something that's completely optional and barely hinder gameplay at all (having the requirements filling half the screen). The same goes for others like the friends system (you only need to do it once) and people calling on your phone (silent mode or hang up). All of these add to the depth, replayability, and atmosphere of the game.

on the 1st point you are wrong, sorry to say. I have 100% completion of the game, although my individual mission stats suck! this feature really does add SO much to the game, as everyone has favorite missions they'd like to be able to repeat in ever gta game ever made. (wish they'd re-release III or VC or SA with this feature!!

on the Cage fighting, thats about the time bats and knives start getting brought in. you'll need to use the counter, and take the weapon from your opponent. after that, its rediculously easy.

there are several posts on how to use the counter, but for me, I changed the keys (pc version) to something easier to use with keyboard devil.gif
