Why only automatic transimission cars?

For f*ck sakes people, not every god damn topic is a f*cking wishlist. There's a difference between discussing a single aspect of the game that could be changed and a list full of omg I want dis in teh gta 5 icon14.giftounge.giflol.gifcookie.gifcookie.giforly.gif

I'm always unsure of what goes where in this forum.

I wouldn't mind manual gearbox if it was optional as I have enough difficulty driving the cars as it is.

True, true cookie.gif

I wouldn't mind it as an option, as I don't wanted shoved down my throat, though even then I proboly wouldn't use it, as when I'm running from the cops I have enough to worry about with out stalling my car in the process because I shifted at the wrong time. Not that I’m a bad driver I just don’t need extra stuff going on. Now I might use it in races now and then but for the majority of the time I’d wan it to be off.

I very much enjoyed the driving in GTA IV, It added more fun and playability to the game I think. It also gave you an edge up in free mode if you didn't want to engage in combat. I also thought the new vehicle physics were great and look forward to their expansion.

On Topic: I wouldn't mind a manual transmission in the vehicles. I think it should be an option and should be implemented as semi-auto. So you can shift, but clutching, etc. is not neccesary. Although I do think that enabling manual transmission should provide a slight performance enhancement.

I loved the driveing in GTA IV too, the more realistic physics allowed for some pretty bad ass driving maneuvers in IV that couldn't be pulled off in the GTA III era, not only that it made it a bit more of a challenge. I also think that the GTAIV physics are expanded but then again they proboly will, as I highly doubt that R* will take a step backwards..

Who said anything about stepping backwards? I simply said they shouldn't focus on things such as the transmissions in the cars, and instead should focus on the actual missions.

You lot are retarded lol

Oh so I'm retarded for a simple misunderstanding? I mean I agree that R* shouldn't focus on a manual transmission, and focus on the missions, but if they do focus on the trannys it it'd most likely be optional.

Oh and in where was in that post did I even mention that I was even acknowledging you or your post, hmmm nowhere. So you should go ahead and think things though before you call people (AS in everyone in this topic) retards.

Because it's not a driving sim.. The reason GTA4 sucked so bad was they focused way too much on car physics and driving missions, the last thing they should do is build on that even more.

That's a great reason. sarcasm.gif

So GTA IV sucked, because R* vastly improved the driving physics from last gen? Driving has always played a big part of GTA you moron, so it's a part driving sim, and I don't understand what you mean by TLAD, and TBOGT practically abolishing driving missions. You still chase targets, and use vehicles in certain missions. confused.gif

On Topic: It would be awesome as an option. Car chases would be even more fun, and challenging.

If anyone noticed, there are cars in IV that are manual, but you just don't have to change the gears. On some cars (washington eg.) if you change to the bonnet view, and you turn up the sound, you can hear the gears changing, and when you get out you can hear the parking brake being pulled.

I'm weird and like to post useless sh*t.

Thanks for letting us know that. sarcasm.gif

Wow,

What a way to add to my useless post,

Maybe they could have one sports car that's manual. If people don't like using a stick they can just avoid that one particular car. I loved the car handling in GTA IV, that was one thing they got right imo. I think there should be random races like there are random characters in GTA V. It would be like Tokyo Xtreme Racer or Midnight Club. Like in those games all you would have to do is flash your lights behind a sports car to initiate a race down a certain boulevard or freeway. Racing in GTA has always been way too easy (especially races in GTA IV - I could probably beat a Turismo with a Faggio in those races) so hopefully they'd be challenging. They wouldn't count towards 100%, but would just be there for people like me who love arcade racing.

I think putting all ideas in the wishlist topic is a bad idea. There need to be more topics where we discuss one aspect of the game, or possible new features without mods closing them.

What do you expect? You made a spammy post, so I messed around with it a bit.

I agree with everything you're saying here. This really ought to be the best way!

Manual Transmission should be optional. Yet, if used, cars have greater acceleration than that of the automatic transmissions. This way, there's actually a reason for to have it and use it. And it shouldn't be hard to use or anything. It could be something as simple as hitting Up or Down on the d-pad to upshift and downshift.
