The first part is abosolutley true but the second part does sound a bit harsh. The worst part about the modders is the threat to consoles. That is what should be said to R*. Because all of these modders are really starting to take the p*ss now.

Sometimes its a case of freeze or be frozen, but u can protect

yourself by adding lots of flying cars.

when u reboot your xbox the one still online in gta is the one

that froze the game.

If you can't kick them within about 30 seconds its best to leave the game.

modders dont freeze because of the police firing rockets out of their guns. it is because of the magazine modification almost all modders put on the pistol and when the game tries to do the reload anim for the police but the full 16,000 rounds havent been emptied yet, this causes some serious conflict which makes the game freeze for them.

The freezing car trick is quite simple.

Modders may or may not know this but it is very simple to achieve and if you wanted to you could set it to ever car you want in the game (not that you would want to as it could risk the modder freezing from overload or something)

 

Here's how you do it: You go into your vehicles.ide file and you see alll the vehicles like so -

 

 

Model name,   Txd name,   Type  HandlingId  Game name,admiral,     admiral,      car,        ADMIRAL,      ADMIRAL,airtug,        airtug,        car,        AIRTUG,        AIRTUG,ambulance,     ambulance,    car,        AMBULANCE,    AMBULAN,

 

 

From there you change the TYPE line from 'car' to 'heli' then change the HANDLING-ID line from 'vehicle name' to 'ANNHIL' or MAVERICK like so-

 

 

Model name,   Txd name,   Type  HandlingId  Game name,admiral,     admiral,      car,        ADMIRAL,      ADMIRAL,airtug,        airtug,        heli,        ANNHIL,        AIRTUG,ambulance,     ambulance,    car,        AMBULANCE,    AMBULAN,

 

 

Thus making whatever vehicle you did that to fly like a helicopter (no sound) and freezing other people's games. It does it to the PC version players too (that's how i know ) but for them the game just rashes and wouldn't damage the hardware of their computer as i know of.

What you said is so true and BTW the king of gltiches is MW2. IW have to produce like 20 patches per game they release because of all these bizarre exploits, bugs and glitches. But lets put MW2 aside this is a Grand Theft Auto forum.

 

R* as a company or as most companys, only listen to popular demand and in my view there aren't enough people demanding a patch as we speak. We have to show R* we mean busniess. I don't know why R* are strictly focusing on RDR because it won't be able to beat the popularity and appreciation that GTA receives. GTA IV is probably one of the most played games from 2008 and its still being played by most to this very day. I personally think its getting that bad now that we have to complain on R*'s newswire on the R* website. That way it will be up close and personal and there is no way that they will miss it unless they're ignorant enough to ignore us.

 

Something has to be done and most importantly peoples consoles are at risk and do you really want to pay alot of money for another one because of some little nerd that modded his game destroyed your console.

First, I'm not going to talk too much about the CoD games because as you said, this forum is about GTA. You reminded me of something. I know Activision do have problems such as a very unstable server and it's worse for WaW.

 

When I complain to Rockstar about the modders and glitches they always come out with two typical things. One is, they claim I'm the only one that has metioned this and that to them. Utter rubbish. Out of all the people in the world and they are trying to say I'm the only one that has complained. Two is, they don't always reply to e-mails. I agree when you said Rockstar are spending too much time on RDR. They are still adding more Social Club challenges that is good but I wonder why they never add anything like that for GTA. When I signed into my Social Club account and chose all the GTA games it only shows my Stats.

Thats what I want to know. Why do they keep ignoring us, they clearly know something is wrong with the game (Modders) but they're just letting it fall to pieces. Some complaining has to be done because I know me and the rest of the users are getting sick of it.

 

EDIT: It seems like modders are slowly decreasing I have been into a few games, scanned them and they were 100% modder-free. But don't get your hopes up just yet this war is far from over. For every modders gamertag you see, select it, then go to: File Complaint > Tampering > System Tampering. And also: Submit Player Review > Negative Player Review > Game Behaviour > Unsporting Conduct.

 

Now if everyone could contribute, these modders would hit the floor harder than Joe Frazier when Muhammad Ali KO'd him in 1974.

Modding is a good thing and doesn't cause problems for other players nor change multiplayer events unless it changes it for all people playing, in a good way, that does not hamper the experience of the game itself. Cheating is what you describe. And Hacking. Not modding. They are not related. They are modders. a hacker is someone who gains unauthorized access to data. Although a lot of people are just burners. people who just burn a disk which already has the modified files on it. its all cheating though. i dont mind cheating in freemode, but even then when you really abuse it, and even freeze games, thats when I want modding gone completely.

Everyone blames R for this but why should thay spend time and money on patches when xbox is supposed to be a closed system.

Most modders are hotswaping that is only possable because ms enabled HD installs.

Modders using flashed drives will be banned in Nov.

Tbogt was patched at the same time as GTA but it was possible to get around on Tbogt by renaming files because the episodes were an add on.

This modding sh*t is getting worse. Now they are pin-pointing us on the map and blowing us up when they are miles away from us. Also, a modder killed me in a Friendly Fire Off game when I was in a car. That is bullsh*t. We are supposed to survive while being in a car when the Friendly Fire is off when somebody blows our car up unless we blow our own car up. We should all tell Rockstar all our thougts to end it instead of talking about it here. I've told Rockstar many times and they claim they can't do anything because they act so pathetic claiming I'm the only person that has complained about he modders where they can't take action from one person. Rockstar are lazy liars.

 

I sent Rockstar another e-mail about the modders and I added the link to this thread. If they ignore this link with witnesses as well as my e-mail I'm taking action against them for breeching customers rights. They have their policy and so do we. I added in my e-mail the fact that our consoles can get damaged through the freezing that is classed as criminal damage and I also added if Rockstar let modders do their thing, not only are Rockstar responsible for letting modders ruin the games that we paid for that we're fully entitled to play, Rockstar are held responsible for the criminal damage to any 360 consoles. I'm also taking names of the people that I communicate with at Rockstar to report them personally as well if or when they dick around.

 

Rockstar can waste time and money making an update that screwed-up RDR Public Free Roam because of a bunch of moaning dicks that were fed-up getting killed so much in Public Free Roam and not using their brains to go in a Private Free Roam to get away from that killing and Rockstar were too thick to tell them to go in a Private Free Roam and I can't understand why Rockstar can't focus on serious issues about the modders ruining our games and damaging our consoles. As I said before, I bet most of the moaners about RDR were a bunch of kids that shouldn't even be playing the game.

I gotta say your doing very well fighting the fight on this thread. I gave up on this game a long time ago. I was doing the same as you guys and emailed rockstar. I even managed to get them to say they would deal with modders as long as I gave the gamertags and they would send these names up to head office. But as usual nothing was done and these people are still cheating on the game.

I've already told them the link to this thread and the fact that they are ignoring the fact that our consoles can get seriously damamged by modders that is classed as criminal damage. At the moment I'm waiting for those ingrates to reply. They do reply to me most of the time. Also, the fact that they ignore some important e-mails can be added to a report against them where they are shooting themselves in the foot more. It's bad enough they ignore what we have to say about all this modding stuff and when they ignore important e-mails, they prove more to us that they are abusing our customers rights. I have something in mind for them. I'm going to contact Office of Fair Trading and The Trading Standards and report Rockstar to them.
