You're very wrong there buddy. Xbox Live and Playstation Network (Not sure about PSN, but I'm sure there are rules), have rules about modding. There are no rules for PC... so people are free to do what they want. Anyway, what do you have to gain from arguing about this topic? Does it make you feel bigger or something?

Here is a prime example of the ignorance I'm discussing, the author of this post has revealed his own lack of knowledge of the facts. There are three systems: Xbox Live, Games for Windows Live and Playstation Network. Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live operate under the same TOS found here: http://www.xbox.com/en-us/legal/livetou, to play online in GTA IV you must accept this TOS. Surely by the fact that GTA IV itself has beforehand attempted to patch modding on its PC version shows you that they never wanted any of it modified in the first place, or are you ignorant of that too? You even said you are "not sure", why make a post then if you cannot be bothered to put effort into research and writing?

 

 

what do you have to gain from arguing about this topic?

Isn't a forum open discussion? If you did not want this thread to be challenged then it should have been posted some where, some place privately, like I stated before isn't some of the purposes of forums debating and statement of opinions? Anyone who attempts to bypass the purposes of a forum should not be posting. What have I gained? I've gained satisfaction in the knowledge that the creator of this topic has now taken the time to remove inaccurate fact regarding modders. After all, if you had taken the time to read my previous posts before slamming the add reply button you'd see I stated my reason for being present in this open discussion: "my corral is not with your mission or opinion, but rather its manner of execution" - my corral was over until you posted with inaccurate facts and attempts to poke holes in my post (a bit ridiculous and over precise might I add).

You must be quite angered by modders? I believe it's quite pathetic that you have decided to stoop your post so low to the extent of attempting to personally insult me when everyone else (at least on the previous few pages) were posting their opinions and civilly debating.

1. Perhaps because I actually have a life.

 

2. Oh I agree about opinions. Everyone is entitled to one. But honestly, this topic seems pretty unimportant, except to people who are directly affected by it and annoyed by it (I am none of these. I mod PC for single player and that's it)

I'm sorry, would you like me to dumb it down for you simple minded-folk? How about I offer a 10 word summary after every post for those who can't process a few paragraphs in one sitting.

 

Perhaps it might be because some people may not have the time to read a book. Which leads me back to #1 above ^^^.

 

Honestly, if you think you're portraying intelligence just by using big words, you're mistaken. Sure you do research and sh*t, but anyone can have access to that if they have time on their hands, which you apparently do.

Modders can be a pain. Only the ones who mod to make custome car spawns I like and they share the vehicles. Apparently they can make custom spawns for vehicles and there own maps. The vehicles dont hurt nothing as long as there not APC's, Buzzerds, and Annilators. There is nothing wrong with someone making the skylift, swift, brickade, the drivable blown up cop car, Heli Tours Mavric, ect. The costom spawn points work like the normal ones so all the people have acess to them. Id hope you would not be mad at that.

Anyone who tampers with there console or game play in any way shape or form in order to get content on their game that is not on there by default is classed as a modder in my books and should be either suspended or banned from Xbox LIVE due to them not cooperating with Xbox LIVE's ToS. I respect your oppinion. You want the game to stay the way rockstar made it and the way it was intended to be. All Im saying is that alot of people get annoyed with stuff that gives the modder more power. Like the weapon mods, fast cars, freeze cars and freeze guns. Those things cause the non modders not to be able to play the game normaly. I dont think that many people would mind modders if they joind the game and there only mod was a skylift spawns at the airport. Non modders can still get one.

The modders I were friends with when I was modding were enjoyed by most players. I went from about 20 friends to 90 friends in 1 week after I started modding. How many players have had to treat fm as dm?

 

It goes like this.

As entertaining as this little 'disagreement' with one another is, i would highly advise and appreciate it if Tufu and Tomster would stop posting here and take it to the PM's, we do not need to know why you two are going at it and what the purpose of it is and finally what you gain from it. Pretty sure he meant in game but he can't as modders are usually invincible. When I see a nasty pilot killing everyone for no reason when politely asked to stop then doesn't I feel a need to kill them and I do but then they can't kill me so they eventually quit.

I came across a modder last night, got his clothes all messy and sticky.

I know this guy on PC who can do anything. He spawned hippo heads on all of the players. The dickhead host kicked me because he thought it was me. I told me modder guy and he kicked the host!

He also can't be kicked. It's like he created the game and has full reign over multiplayer. Apparently, it's all simple C++ commands
