As this relates to TBoGT and there is no actual modding help discussed but more or less discussion on preventing modders (not really working), this is the right place. Despite this topic has died down a LOT since about 2 months ago I'd say, it is still open for discussion and is good to post in in my belief.

I just got into a game with a modder or modder's but i could not find out who they were, my console froze though so i can't find out who they were/he/she was.

A guy invited me into a private chat claiming that he thought i was a modder and inv me into his game. He froze my console...

TBoGT used to actually be fun.

Now it's just pathetic child's play.

 

I'm not even just saying that because i hate modders, in actual fact it's true.

You go around and do a poll on how many people stopped playing TBoGT for the reason being modder's ruining the fun.

(In the poll, players who mod wouldn't count of course)

 

It's just pathetic now because you get these little 8-10 year olds using mods because they're older brother or father or whoever did it for them, and they just abuse the sh*t out of their abilities to do things that are not supposed to be in the gameplay.

 

We can pretty much thank all players that mod TBoGT for the decreasing population of Freemode and the lack of fun it was meant to bring to us.

Well modding isn't illegal just that it's against the ToS like you say...and I doubt any game on the pc/consoles intended for people to mod them.

rFactor for PC is the only game I know of that embraces their modding community. It's no GTA though lol.

 

To be honest, I run a lot of mods on my GTA 4, but it's PC and it's single player only. Before I had a great computer, I was in the same boat as a lot of you guys, with the whole 360, legit copy, and all the modders messing with our fun. Which is why whenever I played TBoGT online, it was only with friends that I knew from past experiences, or dudes that I know irl. I honestly think that's a lot more fun that just joining a random free mode.

I don't actually mind modders if they are the nice kind, the ones that will spawn you swifts and red super drop diamonds, but i hate the dick ones who recruit mindless minions inside a car and fly around and if anyone try's to kick the modder all the minions kick you out

So be it then, let them do it. I mean it's not like they aren't already abusing what they have right?

 

It's already clearly been stated and it is self explanatory that pretty much nothing will happen by listing down a sh*t load of modder's on one of the biggest if not the biggest GTA Forum site in the world.

 

I like to do it so that:

 

• It shows truly how many people cheat these days (If this is how much is in GTA, then i would hate to see other popular titles)

• It shows the modder's themselves what damage they are doing to the community, not physically but mentally.

• Hopefully let's the modder's come around and say "Hey, we are causing problems for these people, obviously they are just trying to have fun but it's not working because we are spoiling it for them"

 

I know for a fact that that last dot point won't ever happen, but it never hurts to try.

I just don't understand why R* took the time to work with GTA IV to stop modders, but then with TBOGT, which is played online even more than the other two titles combined, and they sit back and let it happen. They know what goes on, with complaints, reports on XBL etc. and R* employees playing themselves, but yet a year later and nothing's changed in tbogt, apart from patching harmless glitches.

 

I think what your doing Xtreme is good, i mean even if nobody else is really doing anything about it at least we have a kind of record of who to avoid. Because really why should we suffer and have to quit games just because there are some people who can't accept what they have, they need to mod and hack to feel good about themselves.
