Missing weapons and crashing!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was having problems with this game a while back, and it was because I had the Hot Coffee installed. I have removed everything from my system, according to instructions left by some very nice people here on the forum and started over. The only thing that I have added was the program that helps find oysters, tags, etc. as recommended by the person that helped me, and apparently this wasn't going to mess with my game. I am now up to the OG missions, and everything has been just fine until today. When I started up the game from the Grove Street house save, I noticed that there were no weapons floating around in the kitchen...what would cause that? Also, when I went to the beach for the first OG mission (the dancing one), right after the prompt that tells me about 2500 points to get access to the van from the DJ, the game crashes. I've tried it twice.

Any suggestions?

No weapons floating in the kitchen, should be easy enough.

Go outside and reenter the house.

If you had collected them before saving you merely need to reset the spawn.

Crashing at the Beach?

Are you playing he game with the Original DVD in the Drive?

lil weasel - Thanks for the info on the weapons, and, yes, I am using the original disc.

Naseem Srour - Yes, I did delete that file (.set) along with everything else they had me delete. There wasn't a trace of GTA on my hard drive. I'm wondering if maybe I can avoid the crash by doing other stuff for now, like searching for oysters, and then come back to it later.

Any other ideas? This kind of sucks!

Thanks again in advance,

Troy

when you un-installed you got everything? How about the items in Line Three of this set of instructions:

UNINSTALL/install:

If you're on Vista, you'll need to do this:

1) Uninstall SA.

2) Delete the installation folder if it still exists. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).

3) Delete the Virtual Store copy of the installation folder too. The Appdata folder might be hidden. (e.g. C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).

4) Delete the gta_sa.set file from your user files folder.

5) Reboot.

6) Reinstall SA.

Yes, lil weasel, I got that too, man! Strange thing, it is.

Can anyone else please help? If I have to start over, yet again, I am throwing this game away. I have tried six different times to play to 100% and it's always something that impedes my progress. I am literally sick and tired of playing the same first few hours over and over and over!!!

There is no "Rockstar Games" in my Virtual Store folder, even now!!! All kinds of other stuff from other games...but not Rockstar. Why would that be? And it wasn't there when I deleted everything else before either, so I assumed it was already gone. Please tell me how to find and delete this folder!

One more note...I do not know what version I have. What I have is a black book that says San Andreas City Guides on the front, and the disc is stored on the inside of the back cover. It doesn't have any game ratings on it anywhere. When I installed Demarest's Pillager mod, I installed the one for Version 2. Could this be the problem? Could I possibly have a version 1 game and a mod for version 2 installed? How in the heck do I tell which version I have?

Man, this is frustrating.

P.S. Sorry...I didn't mean to double-post. I am just so d**n upset, that I clicked on "Reply" before giving it a second thought.

UPDATE!!!

Since there was a lack of support here, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I used Demarest's Mission Passers mod to get through the "Life's A Beach" mission. Everything has returned to normal once again.
