Problem with COL files

Recommended Posts

Hi! I want to export one model with DENISka's max scripts. I just selected it and pressed COL SCRIPT EXPORT.

Opened it in ColEditor II and adjusted the brightness and material. So far, so good .. but when I wanted to save, it said me the axis exceeds

limit of +299/-299 per axis (or something like that) and I should save it in Col I format.. What is that for? Is there a way to keep the Col III format?

And because I'm not good modeller, I don't use stuff like centering the object, etc, because I don't know how. My object isn't centered even if I set

him position to 0,0,0. So, is there a way to "center" the object correctly and exporting it to Col III format without any problems (also ingame)?

Sorry for my English confused.gif

Yes, you need to center your object. Your model should be in center of XYZ coordinates. Do you model with Sketchup? If you do, then before you export your model from Sketchup, place it in center of those three lines (see screenshot) and then make your collision file.

P.S: Some people PM me that I'm explaining in details, and getting bored some times. Yes that's true. I wanna be noob friendly, so anybody can understand me sigh.gif

No, I'm modeling with 3ds max. Never opened ScetchUp. And I don't know how to center the model. Even if I set the coordinates XYZ to 0, the model isn't centered.

And when I start the game with model, that I've created, the col is moved somewhere (isn't exactly to the model), confirms it. Sorry for my English. smile.gif

EDIT: I'm not good modeller and when I'm modeling, I move, scale, rotate the faces by my choise. Attaching, detaching models .. and when

I want to export, they're not centered, even if their cordinates are set to 0,0,0. Maybe this is the problem..

To center them properly you must Affect the Pivot only. Center it to the object, and then you can center the actual object.

Select one boejct, go to Hierarchy tab, select Affect Pivot Only and click on Center to Object. Same for each model. Then turn Affect Pivot Only off. And center the objects in 0,0,0.

Then export each col and stuff.

2/4k per COL is to much. Maybe that can be another problem.
