Borderlands? Far Cry 2? Fable 2? Fallout 3? Oblivion?

Would help us greatly if we knew which free roaming games you've played so we can suggest you ones you haven't.

Why would you not get Mafia 2? I haven't even played it and I know it's a beast of a game.

I don't know if there is anything else for you bro. The-King pretty much got 'em all. Any of those are fantastic games you should try out if you haven't already and don't necessarily require you to go to point A to point B the majority of the time.

Mafia 2 is about as good as you can get right now.

I haven't played the first Fallout but at least Fallout 2 is free roam. In a way... tounge.gif

First one runs off the same system as Fallout 2 with the huge sandboxy map and locations (but of course not the same kind of sandbox as GTA3 or whatever).

inFamous, Just Cause 1 and 2, Driver series, True Crime, Bully

I went out and bought JC1 (for the original Xbox) during the wait for GTA4. I enjoyed it. If you still have your PS2 or older consoles I recommend trying to get some older free-roam games pre-owned to pass the time.

Crackdown is supposed to be fun but I didn't enjoy the demo. Both of the Assassins Creed games are also supposed to be good sandbox games, but I haven't played them.

Surprised no one's said Assassin's Creed II. IMO the best non-R* sandbox game ever made.

Oh, certainly. However, I'd recommend it as a rental - you can really see everything there is to see in a week.

Prototype is very, very good, as is Bully.

I tried that game i can't get out of the first dungeon.

It's one of those games where people actually have to think unlike today's games. I guess for a person who's only played the modern games, playing something like Planescape should be a huge change.

But keep trying and you should be able to move on. Look at every bit of information you have wink.gif.
