analizer
Hi I have this unusual problem. When I first bought GTA IV for PC it worked perfectly on the max specs, 1440x900 resolution etc. Now it is freezing on the same processor, the same GPU and the same amoount of RAM. Full system specs; ATi Radeon HD4870 4GB Kingston 667MHz RAM Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Windows 7 32-bit As I said before, it ran smoothly when I first got the game. I wanted to play it again but I simply cant because it is pi**ing me off, its freezing - basically like playing an online game with internet connection that is extremely slow.... lagging etc. Can someone help? Thanks. PS. Yes, I have installed the newest drivers for my graphic card Edited August 25, 2010 by analizer Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/457727-gta-iv-freezing-on-q9550/ Share on other sites
OverTheBelow
Have you defragmented recently? Do you have any resource-hungry programs in the background that could be causing the stutter? A common thing I do accidentally is leave the steam window open with the store tab on. The flash on the store page seems to use quite a bit of CPU and by closing the window it can eliminate some stuttering. Also, next time remember to post problems like these in the troubleshooting subforum, you'll get better and faster help there.
