Obtaining Berkley's RC Van

Ok, don't know if this has been found out yet. But I managed to find a way to obtain and drive Berkley's RC Van. Many people would know that it is nearly impossible to obtain (apart from a few "sightings" in the desert), but I have managed to find a way to do it.

 

1. After you completed the game (or bought Zero's Business, I don't know which) go into Zero's Shop. Go into the back room, there will be a red marker there. Enter it to start the "Beefy Baron" side-mission.

 

2. You will have control of an RC Baron. Now, press the "change view" button.

 

3. Your view will change to a Berkley's RC Van, high above San Andreas. It will fall for a while before landing on the roof of Zero's shop (if it flips over and blows up then retry).

 

4. Fail the Beefy Baron mission (either by waiting for the timer to count down or self-destructing the plane).

 

5. After the mission has failed exit Zero's shop. Get on the roof (helicopter, jetpack ect).

 

6. It should be there, just get in and drive it off the roof.

 

I have only tested this on the PC version and It worked 100% of the time for me. Good luck .

I do know a method of obtaining it by leting RC Vans pile up on the street in front Zero's shop during Beefy Baron, failing the mission and runing out of the shop. Some RC Vans should still be on the street, ready to be stealed.

But I have never heared about this car spawning on the roof, of all places. Good find.

BERKLEY’S VAN:

 

There are two ways to get Berkley’s RC Van:

1) It will rarely spawn in traffic; I found it once heading west on the freeway heading from Las Venturas toward San Fierro, just as I was passing Hunter Quarry, and I've never found it again that way.

I’ve heard that other people have found it in the same general area, driving in The Desert and around Sherman Dam. 

2) You can acquire Berkley’s RC Van from the Beefy Baron mission; here’s a video demonstration:

What? The only cheat I suggested you use was to get a jetpack to fly on the roof and get the Van. If you don't want to use the Jetpack cheat then keep a jetpack or helicopter handy.

 

This method can be done without cheats.

It seems the video Zoom-Zoom supplied is so much easier, anybody try it yet?

 

On the PC Chimpso's method didn't work. But Zoom-Zoom's did. Using the Simple method, without the cheat (spawing) I aquired two vans in a couple of minutes.

Now that I have them what good are they?

Haha you didn't mention it in your first post! I didn' even think about having a helicopter handy.

The cheat is when you Spawn the jet-pack. A 'glitch' is when something happens as a result of 'normal' game play.

You can check this out by checking the Criminal Rating.

Spawning will minus the rating number.

 

Each time you cheat - 10 points,

Each time you use a cheat to spawn a Vehicle -100 points.

Trying to Save after a Spawn will cause the 'Warning' to appear.

Yes, I know, I know, but how can you refer to my method as cheating? (You don't have to spawn a jetpack, you can keep a heli or something nearby to get to the roof.)

You appear to be dense... I say "SPAWNING" the jet pack is Cheating. Nothing more.

I thought you were referring to the whole method as spawning. Oh geeze if it makes you happy I will remove the suggestion to spawn a jetpack.

You don't need to do that. I am merely offering an easier prevously posted method. some players Like to use Cheats.

Just that most of the players don't, because of the save 'warning' issue. Which starts a flurry of posts in itself.

You serious? I thought they only appeared in Zero's missions?

This doesn't work for me. Does it only work with certain versions(1.01, 1.02) of the game? Nothing happens when I try to change the camera view.

 

Edit: Zoom-Zoom's or ZMOONCHILD's method works. But who cares. The van isn't anything special. I miss the GTA3 days when rare vehicles were worth finding.
