Lioshenka
Hello everyone, I made a small book showing which real places were used as prototypes when SA was made. Here is the link: clicky for download. I have covered most of the Casinos and other large buildings. I would appreciate if you can help me with the rest (only Las Venturas for now). I need information on: - chapels (one behind the Camel's toe pyramid, another in the most north-east corner of LV, third one by the parking near the motorway in the North) - small shops - airport. I was unable to find a similar looking building, so any pictures are appreciated. - multi-storey car parks - fire station - hospital - shopping centre in the East - military fuels depot - trains depot - industrial yards and freight depots Thanks. If you can just post Wiki links to the real places, I will then be able to find the pictures etc. Or just give me the name of the place so I can google it myself. The feedback on the book is welcome, but will be ignored most probably http://media.gtanet.com/gtaforums/images/html/emoticons/sly.gif Edited August 10, 2021 by Lioshenka Mehaniq, Davve95 and RyanDri3957V 2
Landstalker
San Andreas State is based on the San Andreas "line"fail. Los Santos is Los Angeles. San Fierro is based on San Fransisco. Las Venturas is based on Las Vegas and Sierra Nevada. Red County is based on the Orange County. Mount Chilliad is Mount Diablo. radioman
Actually just use the "Real Names Mod"-it displays the Real area names instead of the in-game versions(does the same for the vehicles). It is an American.gxt file, so it is an easy mod.-I use it on my V2 game, and it works great.(most people have probably figured that out, since I usually have a habit of posting the Real-life names instead of the in-game names for the areas and such-lol Just a heads up. Adler
Wow nice book! But you're leaving out the world's largest gift shop? I saw it somewhere in North Las Venturas on MTA one day. EDIT This looked like the building Rockstar used in the LV airport. It's the D-Gates expansion of McCarran International Airport. Lioshenka
Hey thanks Adler! I knew about the Bonanza shop, but I couldn't find it in Las Venturas. Do you know where about is it? I think I saw something similar, but can't remember where. RyanDri3957V
Adler
It's to the west of the Emerald Isle a little to the north. RyanDri3957V

Adler
Red County is based on the Orange County. I highly doubt that. RyanDri3957V

King Andreas
Edit: << better suited to this topic >> {lw. After some searching, I've concluded this: The Ganton Bridge is based off the Golden Gate Bridge; the Pink Swan is based off the Flamingo Hotel & Casino; Idlewood is based off Inglewood. We know Area 69 is based off Area 51. Edited June 15, 2013 by lil weasel RyanDri3957V
Pyrrhic
Are you kidding me? The game is almost 10 years old. You would have to be BLIND to conclude that the Gant bridge is anything other than the Golden Gate, same goes for Idlewood -- Inglewood. All you've done is told us what we already know dude. At first, I misinterpreted your response as confrontational. Just to clarify, my post was a reply in another topic until it was moved here. My my though, many of these replications are blatantly obvious, even to the international community. Rockstar many a times isn't very deceptive. Royal Casino and Starfish Casino don't appear to be based off any real casinos. Edited June 16, 2013 by King Andreas

Royal Casino and Starfish Casino don't appear to be based off any real casinos. The Casinos have changed since 1992. What ever happened to the guide that we all helped on? I think it was a topic started by Celestial Heyena or something.
Pyrrhic
Royal Casino and Starfish Casino don't appear to be based off any real casinos. Royal Casino is based on Casino Royale, Las Vegas And Starfish Casino is almost perfectly indentical to Bill's Gambling Hall. @Darrin Celestial is onto his third account, making it impossible to edit further.
