So much for Tradition In The Pit.

 

Things used to be different.  It was possible to have the tradition of nonviolent aggression in pit situations by the older people teaching the younger people how things are done.  If people step out of line then the pit took care of itself and trashed them a good one without killing them.  Now, it seems to be everyone for themselves and mob rules.  The trouble with that is eventually you just give the cops an excuse to crash your shows and shut them down completely, given time.

 

Great way to ruin your future shows dipsh*ts, looks like you'll not give a f*ck til people are being killed and then probably still just get off on it.   I'm disgusted. 

Juggalos aren't representative of a whole generation. I don't think we really have a Juggalo contingent in the UK, but at every gig I've been to where there was a "pit" people have been nice and looking out for one another. Even all the chavs at a recent Calvin Harris show I went to, if you fell down you were getting straight back up again and if you wanted out you just had to say.

 

I'm confident it'll be the same at the (primarily) rock/indie festival I'm going to later this month. It was last year.

 

I realize that you can not throw entire masses of a generation into one group. (sorry for the miscommunication) My observations are mostly personally based and it is hard work to keep it tight in so many different kinds of pits where things are getting way too loose.

 

Your pit distinctions deserve a remark. Glad to hear it!

 

 

The older generation needs to step up more too, so I am not blaming just the younger generation. I do step up and will continue to.

 

My own generation and the one beneath mine are the people that I am the most upset with.Lazy Bastards!

Sometimes the only people that seem stupider to me than juggalos are the ones that classify and typify anyone who listens to ICP as an idiot.

 

Mostly though that's because I think a casual listener and/or moderate fan of ICP doesn't really hold a candle to a "juggalo". I mean, I tolerate ICP because a lot of my friends like them, and a few of their songs are somewhat entertaining. I actually like Twiztid, but would I call myself a "juggalo"? Hell no, because from what I've seen, being a "juggalo" seems to say something more along the line of, "Yeah, I'm a loser, I cannot adhere to convention, I'm going to live my life with an enormous support structure of other losers so that we can further live our lives apart from convention until one day we wake up and realize how stupid it all is and wish we didn't tattoo a hatchetman on our neck..."

 

Well, there's the inbetweens really. I don't know many young people anymore, but when I was a teen and people were calling themselves "juggalos" it seemed to have a lot to do with white kids having a group of people to protect themselves much like the Hispanics had their own gangs. It was much less about music or any kind of lifestyle bullsh*t as much as it was about, "Okay, so, if this guy gets in a fight, everyone gang up on the other guy."

 

Then as people started getting older, they started putting various kinds of philosophies behind it, making it broader, to the point where it was more along the lines of, "Juggalos are brothers, and you help your brothers out," and so I remember this usually coming in the context of some friend being kicked out and needing to sleep on someone's couch or needing money for gas or some sh*t like that.

 

As I entered adulthood, some people in particular had taken it to an almost religious extent. I remember some girl I knew talking about how she let someone stay on her couch saying something like, "Well, that was the right thing to do since he was a juggalo, I helped the little ninja out, and was going to show him the ways of the carnival, and then he just slacked off and ripped us off and disappeared." So I mean, really, it almost seems like a religious thing now to some people, and they're typically the f*cking craziest, stupidest, most white-trash people I've ever met in my life.

 

I've always found ICP fans to be a lot less annoying in general than non-ICP fans though. I mean, hearing about how much of a "juggalo" a person is isn't as bad as someone talking heaps of sh*t about how stupid anyone that listens to ICP is. Especially when it gets to the point where they reveal their own musical tastes and you have to wonder just how intellectually stimulating any of it is.

No facepaint but they had the clothes too match and would say there ICP sayings or whatever. They just sat in a room saying stupid sh*t I dont remember. I was just too trashed and wandered around the house talking to people.

I'd imagine the 2000 fans who attacked her being shallow, empty and confused idiots resorting to that extreem image and violence for the ego boost and peceived elevated social status from their otherwise monotone nature.
