You may get by with around medium settings. Maybe medium-high. That graphics card is a bit tacky.

Get at least a GT240, or better yet, a GTX 295. The 220 seems a little weak for such tasks.

OverTheBelow

Search for a GTX 460. That graphics card is the best bang for buck at the moment. And if you're only using this pc for gaming, I'd advise a Core i5-760.

This man speaks the truth. However, I would keep i7 920, it is a really good CPU. The GT220 is not meant for gaming at all. It is meant for low power office use pretty much. Better yet, if you can save up for a GTX470 or GTX480, then you should have no problems running the game.

I'm assuming you haven't bought the PC yet? If you haven't, post up a budget and I'll try and put together a better PC from that site.

Like others have said, the GT220 is not a gaming card. The minimum for a video card would be a HD5770.

Thanks guys! You are correct, I haven't bought my pc yet. My budget is around $1200. I know I'd be better off building my own pc, but there's this pesky not-knowing-what-I'm-doing thing.

what state do you live in? and $1200 is a good budget, is it for tower only or do you need monitor, mouse, keyboard too?

I find that CyberPowerPC provides a much wider range of parts to choose from that IBuyPower. It's a reliable site. So if you're okay with the site, go here and choose the following parts (parts I haven't mentioned leave as is):

Case: AZZA Solano 1000 Full-Tower Advance Cooling Case w/ Dual 230mm Fan + Extra 3 Fans

CPU: [Free Upgrade from i7-930 While Supply Last] Intel® Core™ i7-940 2.93 GHz 8M Intel Smart Cache LGA1366

Freebies: FREE Game: Just Cause 2

Cooling Fan: Intel LGA1366 Certified CPU Fan & Heatsink

Motherboard: (3-Way SLI Support) Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 Chipset SLI/CrossFireX Mainboard Triple-Channel DDR3/1600 SATA-III RAID w/ 7.1Audio,GbLAN,IEEE1394a,USB3.0,SATA-III RAID,3 Gen2 PCIe, 1 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI

Freebies: Asus USB-BT21 Mini Bluetooth Dongle (with purchase of any Asus Motherboard)

Memory: 6GB (2GBx3) DDR3/1600MHz Triple Channel Memory Module [Free upgrade from PC1333] 6GB DDR3/1600MHz Memory

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1GB 16X PCIe Video Card

Freebies: StarCraft II Free Trial Coupon with purchase of NVIDIA GTX460 video card or above

Power Supply Upgrade: * 650 Watts - Corsair CMPSU-650TX - Quad SLI Ready

Hard Drive: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD

Optical Drive: 24X Double Layer Dual Format DVD+-R/+-RW + CD-R/RW Drive

Operating System: Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition

Total: $1286 ($1276 after rebates)

It exceeds your budget (mostly due to the OS), but it's a great PC. Should run anything out at high settings without a hitch. If it's too expensive, let me know and I'll put up a different build. Oh and this is assuming you only want the system unit, if you want a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc, let me know and I'll change the list.

I actually noticed that if you sli something like 2-3 8800gtx's or 9800gtx+'s you come out with a better computer than a 200-400 series nvidia card. The 8800 and 9800gtx+ cards actually have better clock cycles in almost every category, and with sli support would make the performance almost 3x better than the newer cards. But I guess the only problem is that this game doesn't really support sli does it?

Others already said it but it won't hurt to repeat tounge.gif the 220 is a bad card for gaming.

Do as others suggested and get a GTX 460, for now its the best cheap and powerful card available.

Aside from that, your system should run it nicely.

Note: Should. GTA 4 is a very random game lol.gif

you dont know what the hell you are talking about... the fact that newer cards support new technologies, and the clocks are much fuster. you are an idiot.

Do you know what you're talking about?

8800's are 3 years old or more.

And they are like 2-3 generations behind.

The 400 series are the most powerfull at the moment.

Decent PC other than the GPU, junk card (no offense) designed for media usage not gaming. Snag a decent card and that rig will be able to handle the game at high settings without any trouble.

So a Tri-Way SLI of 7900GTX is faster than the GTX 260?

geek attack. Nothing much I can say, but does GTA IV profits much from anything above gtx260? I saw some benchmarks and I didn't see it.

Not unless he plans to SLI, it would just be overkill.

I reckon that he should get an i5 instead of an i7, it'll give him similar performance for reduced cost.
