I was going through my video game stuff and i found 3 things, my old wii, Gta Advance, and gta 4 on 360 and i thought gta should be on wii, cause before i got my 360 i was waiting for a gta for wii(you know before i got gta 4 for 360) and before i had my wii ( i was 9 at the time) i wanted gta for GameCube, so i wanted to see if gta be ported for Wii

I accidentally clicked "no". I meant to click "hell no!".

The Wii is not meant for GTA like games. Crappy graphics, mostly young users, it just sucks elephant balls IMO. It was a mistake making a GTA for DS, too. Keep GTA away from Nintendo.

Rockstar have tried games on Nintendo consoles in the past, and sadly, the user base just doesn't "take" to these games, ManHunt 2 sold like crappy, Chinatown Wars sold well but under performed to what Rockstar was expecting, etc. I doubt they would port a GTA game to the Wii if it results in them downgrading the graphics, physics and textures, etc, as Rockstar would see that as being an uneven game.

Honestly, no, because the Wiimote doesn't seem like it would really be a good choice for a game that requires you to have a lot of functions on the controller (ability to shoot, open doors, punch people, et cetera).

Then again, if it did come out on the Wii, it wouldn't exactly bother me, since I already own a PS3.

no, hell fking no, the worst idea...even sam hauser would say "WTF? not even will sell over 10,000 copies its bullsh*t", is obvious wii is more for family and kids games, what you will show to your kids? how you f*ck 20 whores on a night?how peds die stupidly when shoot the f*ck off them? and what would it be? a cubish protagonist?

damn just thinking on it gives me ghostbumps, wii will go directly to the trash can when kinect for XBOX360 gets out, hell yeah

No,not because it wouldnt be cool but because the Wii couldnt take R.A.G.E without removing alot of things, they could make a version that uses Manhunt 2 engine ,Renderware i think

No.. GTA would not fit the Wii. *whip your wiimote to pull out gun and such* I would like to see a game by R* tho on the Wii. but im playing the Wii right now. and i dont think the controls are up to it. and the Engine is not good enough for GTA. Leave Nintendo to having Zelda, Mario, Animal crossing games.. and much more.. Ive read somewhere they we're gonna release GTA 2 for the N64 years ago. but it got sh*t-canned. thats one arrow pointing to GTA to not being on Nintendo Systems.

Voted hell no. Do not want.

However, you will see GTA on Wii, and possibly PS2 at that same time at the end of its life (or it will be too late). How do I think this? Chinatown Wars. Do I think THAT game will be on those platforms? No. The engine will be used, and it will be a furthering of the DS and PSP version of the engine, with LOD as you would expect, and not tied to a top down view to hide the lack there of.

Apple will have a "console" too, loosely, and that is why they made chinatown wars. 1: Get into the Wii and Nintendo Tech 2: get into Apple tech 3: back sony PSP go

The whole purpose of these handhelds lately is to build a game on the way to a bigger game - thus, bigger rockstar titles on the bigger consoles are only a matter of time. Chinatown Wars is like a preview.

I'm imagining a nine year old playing GTA IV in his bedroom. His mother brings him up a little snack & just as she walks in she hears "Now that's what I call a soul pole".

Regarding the OP's sole poll, who gives a sh*t.

It's not really about hating the Wii, it's just very limited, and a game like GTA now is designed for a certain power requirement that only the Xbox 360, PS3 and Computers can match. For it to work on the Wii it would have to be cut down a lot. Plus, as I said, Rockstar have tried cracking the Nintendo market but, as the sales show, Nintendo's Audience ain't keen on Rockstar Games.

In my opinion, Wii should only be for casual gamers. Although they are few hardcore games such as No More Heroes, every single game on the Wii requires motion.

Now I don't want to be moving my ass around while hotwiring cars and running from the cops. I rather sit my lazy ass down on a comfortable sofa.

No GTA V for the Wii, it won't happen. So Let's get that "wishful" thinking out of the way.

The Wii can't even handle the 360 and PS3 version of Madden NFL 11. so they had to make a different vesion, (I believe, the cover's different).

Oh, just so we're clear. Before anyone accuses me of fanboyism, I have a PS3, 360 and a Wii.....

I think it's a quite good idea, but in reality I doubt it would work very well, I think G.T.A. Wouldn't fit very well on the system.

I like the Wii though, it is a lot of fun to play.

The Wii is not "meant" specifically for ANYTHING. Just like the PS3, Just like the 360, Just like any console ever made. Just because the first party games are family oriented, does NOT mean that every publisher has to make family games. This is a fail self deprecating spiral where Devs don't make "hardcore" games for the Wii because of the image, and the image is because Devs don't make the games.

And the graphics aren't "Crappy", they are far better than anything on the original Xbox or the PS2. Again, this is just the Devs only porting PS2 games that cause that problem.

GTA has a Nintendo Handheld release for EVERY GTA generation. And every gen, it doesn't sell as well as the big versions. But R* keeps doing it because they like Nintendo. (They said that in an interview about either Bully, Manhunt 2, or CtW, don't remember...)

GTA1 on GB-GBC hybrid

GTA2 on GBC

GTA3 as Adv on GBA

GTA4 as CtW on DS

I can 100% guarantee a GTA5 handheld version (ala CtW) on 3DS.

Honestly, no, because the Wiimote doesn't seem like it would really be a good choice for a game that requires you to have a lot of functions on the controller (ability to shoot, open doors, punch people, et cetera).

The Wii actually has many other control options than just the Wii-remote. Combined with the nunchuck, you actually get a joystick and mouse-like control. Other that that, you could use the "Classic Controller" and have the exact same control layout of the PS1/2/3 versions.

No,not because it wouldnt be cool but because the Wii couldnt take R.A.G.E without removing alot of things, they could make a version that uses Manhunt 2 engine ,Renderware i think

1: EA owns Renderware. R* has not used it since SA.

2: They used Gamebryo for the 360, Wii, and PC versions of Bully, and LCS and VCS I believe.

3: There is already a version of RAGE for the Wii, it was used for R* Table Tennis.

LMAO at Wii haters.... pathetic

Anyway, although it would bring R* more money, for the Wii is STILL the best selling console thus far, I just couldn't see it happening. CW being on the DS was a surprise to me though when it was announced.

@LuisBellic: That's complete spam if you don't back up your claim.

Anyways, all of you Wii haters are quite pathetic. You people are the same ones that hated on GTA CW being released on NDS, but you know what? While the sales weren't great, the game got AMAZING reviews. I'm not sure if it still is, but it was or is the highest rated NDS game of all time. I really believe R* has never made a bad GTA, and it's most likely going to stay that way. This is also for you people that use "everything will require motion" statement. I doubt R* would even make a GTA for Wii use much motion controlling. The only things I can see are melee (swinging), hot-wiring, and other little mini-features. Another thing is that the Wii isn't just a family console. Hell, some of the titles with the highest scores for Wii are mature games. Red Steel 2 isn't rated M, but it should be considered brutal or violent enough to be rated M. I haven't played it, but I hear MadWorld is also very good.

Since when have sales determined how good/bad a game is? Going by that logic everyone who doesn't like GTA IV, and say it's the worst GTA ever made are wrong as it broke sales records around the world.

CTW didn't have the greatest amount of sales, but it was still an amazing game considering the hardware it was on.

I don't own a Wii myself, but you know what I find hilarious? Well rather pathetic actually. People go on how the GTA series isn't about graphics, and more about the gameplay, and then when a suggestion for a GTA developed for a company who's solely had that trait of thought since day one comes to mind every fa**ot comes out, and says" But its graphics would be crappy" or "It wouldn't be able to handle a game like GTA". Oh please.

R* could port SA to the Wii, and it would run it just fine.

Actually they couldn't, I believe it's a requirement for games to work with the Wii's control scheme WITHOUT any add ons. San Andreas controls WOULD work with the Classic Nintendo Controller as it has two analog sticks, enough buttons to cover, etc. But try and play San Andreas with a Wii mote and Nun Chuck, I can guarantee that won't feel right.
