demon-taimer
i have nothing against europe at all, in fact i like europian culture, i just belive that gta series belongs in america D'you know the guys who started Rockstar were English? they were scottish. anyway, i know i had a thread like this before, but what i think now is: that r* are gonna make the game set where ever they wan't and it will be bought and played no matter where it's set, so these threads are a moot point!!!!! So can we have the next GTA DLC be on the moon? Lol push the aliens into a crater And ty for correction, I could have swore it said the two guys were british... oh well
demon-taimer
@Theblackproject, If we don't live in Britain, how the hell are we supposed to know if they have different accents? IMO, they do all sound the same, but I've never been to Britain, and certainly don't live there, so I don't know. I'm sure many european people think all American accents are the same, which is far from true, but how can you blame them? They don't live here. Actually, no, it's amazing how many people in Europe can tell which part of America from an accent, there is no "American" accent outside of TV Acting, people usually narrow it down like "Oh yeah, that's a New York Accent", "That's a Texan accent", etc. We Europeans are quite smart like that. What about your own accent? Are you Europeans good at that? ... How did the topic turn to accents
demon-taimer
Brazil sounds good, we could have a combination of jungle and city gameplay.
General Goose
GTA is a crime game, NOT a game based on satirising American culture above all else. Sure, all the games bar the London expansions (which PROVES GTA is not a purely American franchise and is open to foreign games) have parodied American culture, but that's because they were set in America. LC, VC and SA are going to get boring soon, and bar a few other cities, London and Europe may be the only viable option left.
Nativedeem
meh i dont like the european culture much, and a big part of gta is making fun of american culture. Americans dont really know about european culture anyways, which is much different than american culture.
Ash_735
Americans dont really know about european culture anyways, which is much different than american culture. Then wouldn't you like a game in Europe so you can see it get mocked and also learn about how things are different? I don't get that kind of American attitude sometimes, the rest of the world is happy to know about other cultures and don't mind films/games/music, etc from other countries and enjoy them, we're happy to accept American culture, etc. But try and get American to know about European culture and it just doesn't gel, any British TV shows that are brilliant get remade in America because they think the US audience just wouldn't get the show and would automatically hate it "some limey TV show", etc. Boggles my mind. I've given up trying to convince people that a GTA set outside America could be a good idea. Also going by the relative size of our country & population compared to the U.S., England has a more successful music, film & video game industry. A White CJ
You know, Americans who have never been to Europe and quickly judges that GTA should never be in Europe shows nothing but ignorance to the world. I'm not saying that the next GTA has to be in Europe, but Americans must face it and can't hide the fact that they think USA is the only modernized country in the world. Many people here down in the South think that BMW is an American company, and that France never won a war. Everyone here says "British accent" and it pisses me off, because the Scottish accent sounds nothing close to the English accent. It's a shame because 40% of Americans here in north Houston have Scottish ancestry. Hahahaha, I love this guy ♥ 1) What kind of dumbass believes BMW is an American company? 2) Of course the French have won wars! Does Napoleon Bonaparte ring any bells? 3) I've heard a 100% Scottish accent before first hand, our communication was so bad he gave up with words and immitated a lawnmower. Wanna know British accents? Ignore the James Bond films >_> 1. This kind. 2. Napoleon Bonaparte.... he FAILED in the end! What history book/Wikipedia article did you read? But, yes, the French have indeed won wars despite their awful military record. 3. Okay.
General Goose
The French have a much better military record than you think. They won the Hundred Years War, did VERY WELL in the Napoleonic Wars and there's countless other examples. Frankly, the stereotype of the French being combat-impaired cowards is, bar a few historical events, a pretty inaccurate one for the most part.
