Open resturants without progessing story or cheats

I just found out that if you do a food date (I did it with Kate, but any girlfriend you can get before that point should work) you will be able to enter restaurants before the mission that opens them. I did this in the ps2 greatest hits version.

I feel dumb..I got a date with Katie before I did missions,I got shot up big time,

but it is possible..but I never thought to see if the food places(cluckin-bell) where

open..I hurried on to get more sideline stuff done.
