VC Unhandled Exception

I have v.1 of the game on Vista 32 bit. As recommended in the post by

Ring_of_Fire, I deleted MSCTFMONITOR.DLL from C:\Windows\System 32.

I modded the Sentinel and Angel in handling.cfg to have better traction, spawn

on land if Tommy drives one into water, etc.

 

I made a save game with the Hidden Packages, Vigilante, Paramedic, Firetruck,

and Pizza Delivery missions done. I got to "Phnom Penh '86" and started get-

ting:

 

Unhandled exception: c0000005 At address: 005c2d01

 

The last few times it happened, I was trying to have Tommy go west past the

biggest Hyman Condo garage, which has a Rhino and a PCJ 600. An Angel and

a Sentinel, which have modded handling file numbers, are in one of the small

garages there, but that doesn't seem to bother the game.

If the handling.cfg is the only file that you've modified, then try deleting the gta_vc.set file from the User Files folder and see if it helps.

I deleted gta_vc.set but got the same result.

 

I've now had Tommy go east out of the alley, drive around town, then land a

helicopter on the Hyman Condo roof. When I had him walk to the southwest corner

of the roof, which normally makes the big garage door open, I got the same

freeze and message--again, instead of that big garage door opening.

 

So the problem is something to do with the Hyman Condo big garage or probably

something in it, but all that's supposed to be in it are a Rhino and a PCJ 600

(?!).

 

Can you recommend a garage editor that works with Vista 32 I could use to emp-

ty the garage then try again?

 

 

PS: I used the GTAVC Admin Console to check out the big garage of the Hyman

Condo: there was a Police car in it somehow (?!). I used the console to remove

the Police car and the game is fine now.
