Screen turns grey

I was playing then suddenly, the screen turns black/grey, then I can't move anything. I can't even access my desktop or my task manager. I'm guessing it hanged. Why would it hang? My 5770 is not OCed.. and all drivers are up to date. What could be the problem?

 

EFLC high settings @30-60fps

i5 760 @2.8GHz

P55-GD55 msi

6GB RAM

Powercolor HD5770

500GB HDD

600w PSU

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

 

 

and my PC never hangs. it just hanged maybe because of EFLC.

Uninstall the ATI driver from Programs applet in control panel and then install fresh ones.
