Vanzant
When DKC came out for SNES, I had to have it. It's one of the best looking titles for the Super Nintendo and provides hours of solid game play. The second one was just as good. The third one well...not as interesting, but I played through it anyway. I own Donkey Kong 64 it's in it's original packaging and sealed. I played it for a half hour at a friends house before I bought it and decided I didn't really like the way the series was going thus never bothered to open my own copy. This fall a new Donkey Kong Country is coming out for the Wii. It's going back to side view and it's just going to be Donkey and Diddy. No six other useless boring mokeys with stupid names. So I'm actually looking forward to this and giving it a chance.

darthYENIK
What a prick. DKC is awesome. That music from the trailer brings me back to the SNES days, and reminds me of playing the game in the blockbuster video game championship tournament. I won a special edition pack of marvel trading cards. This game series changed platform games forever.

E.A.B.
DKC? AWW SHEET THAT'S MY sh*t! I f*ckING LOVE DKC, f*ckING BANANAS! DKC 2 is one of THE greatest platformers I'VE EVER PLAYED! SOME OF THE GREATEST MUSIC AROUND IN VIDEO GAME HISTORY! I'm not being sarcastic. DKC2 was lengthy, had a lot of variety and was overall a major improvement over the original. DKC 3 was a great platformer all on its own as well. Thing is, the music and levels were pretty uninspired. Although it still stands up to any platformer quite formidably. The DKC for the Wii looks good. Although I wish video game companies would realize that they shouldn't try to emulate previous games exactly, but chart a new course WHILE MAINTAINING THE SAME QUALITY. I liked MM9, but where the f*ck was Bass? Why did I have to pay to slide? Why couldn't I charge my shots? Oh, right, cause those things weren't in MM2, and they were simply aiming to recreate that game and did away with all improvements of later games that weren't as popular. So, yeah, I hope this doesn't simply recreate K.Rool as a pirate and heads the 'copy the most popular game' route. Either way, it'll be fun. Vanzant
E.A.B No pirates or even Kremlins. No word even that K. Rool has anything to do with it. The article in Nintendo Power talks about an island full of Animals being put against you. You like the music, which some of it's coming back! And for us old school gamers, this can be played with the Wii remote NES style which is cool as f*ck. Thanks to whoever reported that post that was crap by the way. Rockworm
damn I'll never forget that christmas when my dad got me the first DKC. I played it so much its not even funny. And then 2 came out and I think I played that even more don't mess with the classics.
CryptReaperDorian
I have Donkey Kong Country for SNES, and I say it has to be one of the best SNES games ever. I still haven't defeated K.Rool as I found him quite difficult. However, Super Mario World was my favorite SNES game. I have a few words. Don't f*ck with classic Nintendo side-scrollers. Rockworm
yeah I'd say its right under the megaman X (the first 2 especially) in best SNES Sidescrollers.
Lithium
I remember loving the snake in the original. You could jump around on that guy. I didn't like the N64 version, but the original and the second game were the sh*t! I didn't even own a SNES (I was a SEGA kid), but I always managed to play it at a friends place. Hopefully they don't f*ck this new one up like they did the N64 version. Edit: I can still hear the underwater music from the first game. BEST music ever! Let's act in a derogatory fashion and insult people with needless, counter-productive, unfounded statements on an internet forum! That's sure to provide a somewhat exhilerating, yet entirely misguided, sense of masculinity! Anyway, this was one of my favourite Game Boy Colour games, I even recall the Christmas when I was given my Purple Game Boy and a copy of this brilliant title. Time to grab an emulator and relive the memories .#

Vanzant
I liked DK64! When it comes to the N64 game, like I said those of us who loved the side view games, it was too much of a change with too many new Kongs to play as. It didn't fit with us well. That does not mean the game was bad, hell one of my Ex-Girlfriends loved playing it. Other than that, I forgot all about Donkey Kong Land! Had the First one good fun. Redketman
Donkey Kong Country was one of my favourite SNES games before. I beat the games a couple of times, but when I play the game today, it is actually quite hard. Anyway, It's a really good game and it's of course one of the most classic games for the SNES. I am looking forward to play Donkey Kong Country Returns on Wii when the game will be released. By the way, I also own Donkey Kong Country 3 and it's almost as good as the first game. I've been playing this recently with a SNE emulator, and yes, I agree, it's surprisingly difficult. I love the game's charm and vibrancy, but mainly the great gameplay mechanics, such as the ridable animals and cannons. Sonic, however, is irreplaceable as my childhood gaming icon, but Donkey Kong comes pretty close (although not as close as Crash ). Oh, and who else remembers Candy? Abel.
Haha, thanks for that, he was rather funny . More screenshots: If any of you want an emulator to replay this, I'd strongly suggest ZNES.
