Most of you have probarbly heared or played at least one game from the Command & Conquer series. They have released many new games. But I still prefer the old games from The First Decade.

Did you like any of these old games? I liked Red Alert 2 and Generals best. Which one of these games do you enjoy the most?

C&C Red Alert 1 was one of my first games. I still have it and love it to this day. It's just a freakin' masterpiece.

I've only played Generals and the expansion. Well, I played a newer game as well, but I didn't like it. I like Generals, modern era, much more than the futuristic games. Generals is so much fun. I like setting up defenses. Like, two tanks, 4 soldiers a Humvee or two at a gate or something like that. And then use a trainer to get unlimited ammo, power and whatnot and build a million Nuke silos if I'm playing as China.

If you like defence you should try playing online. There is a community made map-type called Art of Defence (AOD). It's pretty much like a tower defence game for generals.

I love the first decade, still play Zero Hour quite a bit. It's a pitty they f*cked up Red Alert 3 and C&C 4.

^Yeah, thats when EA really started to screw things up. Westwood on it's own made the best games. And mrpain, the squids are cool, but the Magnetron in RA2 Yuris Revenge was much better .

 

Gotta love the RA2 soundtrack as well.

Magnetron + Mastermind= Epic Ownage

 

Yuri's side definitely had many unique units.

 

As for the soundtrack, Hell's March will forever be playing in my head.

C&C Red Alert was the first game I ever made mods for, so it holds a special place in my memory. God damn I wish I still had some of the maps I made.

 

Tiberian sun had a kickass soundtrack too.

C&C Generals: Zero Hour for me. Its funny how each faction responds to your commands. While GLA being the funniest and having the strangest tactics, it is nice to play all of the factions and their generals. Too bad USA Airforce General is a bit a lot overpowered.

Agreed, Granger has too many good aircraft and point lasers on his craft. Just use quad cannons (GLA), Gattling tanks or turrents (China), and Avengers (USA) to take his aircraft out.

Agreed, Granger has too many good aircraft and point lasers on his craft. Just use quad cannons (GLA), Gattling tanks or turrents (China), and Avengers (USA) to take his aircraft out.

Actually imo Superweapon general is the only general that's a bit overpowered unless you're able to get some good amount of units early up in the game before he/she builds like 5,000 particle cannons and a million emp patriot missles which shutdown tanks for a few seconds and takes one hit to kill anything that's flying, which is what the Airforce general is full of.

 

I also haven't played any cnc games older than Red Alert 2 so I might look into getting the old cnc games to try them out.

^ But the Airforce Gen has point lasers on his Aircraft, these destroy most incoming missiles. And yeah, the supewep gen has particles at half price so yeah, a little overpowered.

I have this classic RTS collection at home, well, I have all the Command and Conquers in some form, the only one i don't have on my PC is Red Alert 3. Got that on my 360.

 

An excellent series, slightly dissapointed with what they did with C&C 4 but it plays well, so i can't complain really. There's been rumours floating around for a long time that there will be a generals 2, but after the flop of C&C 4, who knows?

Amen to that. The amount of time I used to spend on Gray's 4 vs 4. Annoying when we had what was turning into a stalemate cause back then my dial-up would disconnect after 2 hours and it'd turn me into an AI user which were stupid and would eventually declare war on their allies, ruining 8 man hours of strategy work! Gah.

Loved Red Alert 2 and RA2:Yuris Revenge. Countless hours of my life have been pumped into those games. Too bad I lost the discs and cant seem to find a shop online that I can get them as a digital download.

My uncle worked on Red Alert. Gave me a free copy when it was released. I wish I could find it.

Generals and Zero hour for me. I found it was the most interesting online and offline.

And the mods for them, they just added hours of replay for me. Hell they made the game even better.
