why did they wait till this installment to give us the best weapons?

p90 awesome, the shotgun thing, possibly the greatest weapon ever!

and my favorite, the return of satchel charges, oh how i missed them.

 

also, it is cool how r* managed to change the whole feel of the city without changing the city itself, the original felt dark and even claustrophobic in places, but TBOGT, feels more fun and open, kinda like how SA felt.

thats how capitalism is working even apple, nvidia, amd, ibm, intel, samsung .. hell everyone is working with that system. for example the new apple ipad misses some features but apple will adding those in the next ipad generation and sell it again for 600 bucks.

 

more and more game developers are start developing a main game and sell then mini parts and/or addons. therewhile they are developing the next big game but they need money while working on this. its better than developing a huge project at once that takes 3-4 years and a lot of money and risk.

I feel TLaD feels different, because I never spent time in Alderney before.

You do not have to buy these products also we were waiting for four years with GTA IV it takes a long time to make a game. Also the USSR and Cuba did not have any innovations besides Tetris.

I didn't find all weapons to be upgrades of GTA IV's weapons. The Advanced MG may have a higher rate of fire (basically 600 rounds per minute) and magazine size than the assault rifles, but it has only half the power with sh*tty accuracy. The .44 Pistol may be powerful, but I like the older pistols more than that one for their accuracy and rate of fire. The Advanced Sniper is only advanced compared to the regular Sniper, but the Combat Sniper is still better. The only thing advanced about it is that it has explosive rounds in multiplayer while the Combat Sniper has regular rounds.

 

Those aside, the other weapons are either upgrades or are on pars with the earlier weapons. The P90 has pretty much the same rate of fire as the Advanced MG and earlier SMGs, and it is the most powerful SMG. It's downside is its long-ass reload times though. The Gold SMG has a very high rate of fire with power between the old SMGs and P90. However, reloading after every two seconds is a bitch. Sticky Bombs are definately an upgrade to be honest. The AA-12 shotgun with regular rounds has more power than the Pump Action Shotgun, and it has nearly the same rate of fire of the Combat Shotgun (big upgrade). The AA-12 with Frag-12 rounds has the range of a M4, and it's very effective on people and vehicles alike.

at 1st place "those russians that just have tetris" made it possible to modify gta4. but good to know someone that still lives in his bunker waiting for the nukes from the commies

I like the p90 but hate the reload time and that you cant drive by with it. I use the gold smg just cause ive used the regular smg in TLaD and regular IV Im trying something new now. Not a huge fan of the .44 pistol I like the Eagle and the Glock better and I like the other assault rifles better then the advanced mg. But I do like the AA-12 with explosive rounds, now that gets the job sone.

I use the P90 the most.

 

It's deadly accurate. 1 shot kills, all headshots... sometimes takes a few more shots, but I still like to challenge myself by doing all headshots all the time.

 

The reload time? well, it's not the fastest, But if you just do headshots you only need 1-3 shots per person.

 

I do, however, hate the fact you can't do a drive-by with it.

 

Yusef's Gold SMG: Man, I love to spray bullets with that thing... BAAAAAM!!!! takes out a whole mass of people. I do get annoyed by having to reload every second with the Gold SMG.

you can do drive bys this the p90, just have to select it whilst driving since it doesnt default to it. Its a bit buggy though but it works (i think default is 5? at least for PC anyway)

Its because GTAIV meant to have the most basic weapons. It was the first GTAIV so it needed basic things. Thats why people call it Vanilla. Like ice cream. A basic Vanilla ice cream without extras, but still tasty.

 

BOGT was like adding a chocolate creme with some nuts. But you have to pay extra for that. So thats why they didnt give you Kick-ass weapons in IV.

Why not also consider new vehicles, upgrades to map, new interiors, and a separate storyline? Do you think they also waited to add those?

I think some of the new vehicals fit the story better. Like I'm not sure of the number but there wasn't a lot motorcycles in vanilla IV so it makes sence that they had to add them for TLaD. I guess they wanted to give Tony the top of the line car so hence the new Schaffer. I guess they wanted to give the player something new so they just hand it to the protagonist.

Yeah I think the weapons in TBoGT are the best. I still wish we could've have gotten a flamethrower.
