Which Era should the next gta be in?

I wish people would stop holding onto the thought of another GTA III GTA. I am confident in saying it wont happen.

 

In saying that if R* were going to release another GTA III GTA it would most likely be in the vein that LCS, and VCS were, and just release it on PS2, and PSP.

 

There's no way R* would scrap all the hard work they done with GTA IV just go back to a dated platform to please the fans who simply can't let the GTA III era rest.

The problem with San Andreas stories is that before 1992, it was the bad guys that were winning, so the idea of playing as someone like BS Big Smoke or Tenpenny would suck in my opinion.

Obviously IV. R* barely even scratched the surface of the IV era. Ending it now would just be stupid, not to mention wasted effort.

 

But the III era is over guys. They're not going back to it. Ever.

well if you pay thm enough moeny (id say about 100-500 million) they would make the III era again. becasue now with GTA IV era starting its not a good profit for them

There has only been one main game in the IV era,and R* have made potention in IV for more characters in V.

You're dreaming! There is no way that GTA V/GTA Next is going to be a whole era. I believe it will be a continuation of the IV era, whether it will based on the past or present.

There is no reason V can't use an upgraded RAGE and still be a new era. That is what happened with GTA2 vs GTA1. All they have to do is change the story to a new story with new characters and preferably add some new gameplay features. (Like how GTA2 added the Respect meter and in level saving.)

Maybe, but R* has put so much effort into developing the characters in IV and their background story, it would be a such a waste if they have to start from scratch again for V. Surely they can continue IV's story and characters on GTA V.

The only thing thats good about Claude is the mystery.

02fishera yes, one of Claude qualities is to be mysterious, but I think we should know a little bit more about him! Would be awesome another game with him as a protagonist! And Rockstar loves Claude, so I imagine it could be possible to have him as a protagonist

Agreed. I think the GTA IV era still has alot of potential to expand on what GTA IV, TLAD, TBOGT, and CTW put down. Not counting the latter there's only been one major GTA in this era. Why start a new one so soon?

Exactly. I simply cannot think of any reason for R* to make another GTA III GTA. Although there are still a few mysteries that haven't been solved, IMO the bulk of the loose ends have been tied up. A new GTA III GTA would create more plotholes rather than topping it off.

 

R* ended the GTA III era the best they could as far as I'm concerned, and quietly made the transition into the GTA IV era. It would show a great deal of lack of imagination on R*'s part if they revived a series of games that ended 3 years ago.

 

I will always love the GTA III era, but I would rather new stories, new characters, new mysteries please.
