Realistic Weapon Damage and Handling

so, for a while now i have been working on trying to get the weapon damage and handling just right, although some limitations have sprung up including fire rate, and weapon animation limitations. so far i have the damages pretty much done and are based upon GRIMS Weapon Pack Volume 3, his weapon.dat helped me a lot in the beginning to figure out how a lot of the variables and arguments went, so thankyou GRIM, changes included with my current setup are but are:

 

- Damage changes

- Range changes

- Magazine size changes

- Spread changes

- Fire rate changes

 

these are only the changes i can think of off the top of my head and their are probably more you may notice, a few issues i ran into while using my modified handling were:

 

- Cops became a force to be reckoned with especially when you started to get into fighting swat, the fbi, patrolmen with shotguns and the military.

 

- Cars blew up A LOT faster than they were supposed to.

 

to remedy alot of these requires some main.scm changes and other script modding that i am only a novice at, all of the traffic needs the health cars are spawned with to be raised to about 5000-7500- and maybe even 10,000 to accomodate for the extra damage being taken, realistically, cars dont blow up when you shoot them with small gun fire. only with rockets can you land some explosions.

 

another seperate issue was, i wanted to disable the cars catchingon fire and exploding when they flip, but as i said, that's a seperate issue.

 

any help in making these gaps crossable is gladly appreciated and i will post a download link as soon as my self esteem gets high enough to overcome the shame i will recieve if people dont like this change in gamelay smile.gif

I just read about this mod and I liked it right away colgate.gif

 

(It's really disturbing that GTA SA is a bit unreal in firepower and so on)

yeah im sorry for the late response i just got back into gta sa, but im fully supporting it right now and i will release a new version soon, and it is truly disturbing, i have been refining my current weapons.dat again biggrin.gif
