Zeshuan
I think R* should include health regeneration in the next GTA; preferably similar to the one used in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. The blurring motion felt pretty intuitive and would work in a 3rd person format. Any other games have an HR system that you felt would fit GTA better? Do prefer limited health packs that slow down the action and often force mission failure/restarts? Do I sound biased towards one side of the argument? drscot
Do I sound biasED!!! towards one side of the argument? yes you do, I dont think GTA needs health regeneration. it would take away the point of driving away and having a massive police chase if you could just duck behind a wall and wait for a bit like CoD
Brown Sugar
i also don't think gta needs health regeneration it would make the game too easy and the current health system is fine anyway
maxopower
No! GTA is not about the combat (alone), And it isn't a shooter. GTA isn't that challenging, and it really shouldn't get any easier. I sound bias towards one side of the argument? Why would you ask, of course you do. You only made augments for having it implanted and nothing to counter. Edited August 13, 2010 by maxopower
GritEngine
If it was like MW2 but without as much blood on the screen (IV has a good amount for 3rd person IMO) would be awesome. Of course, take more bullets too. Regen would be cool, it WOULD change a lot about the game though.
A White CJ
NO. Being hit by five bullets and surviving doesn't make sense. Being hit by five bullets and recovering several seconds later makes even less sense.
Kwandilibro
Only if it's like The Mercenaries(the old one anyway). When your health goes below 20%, you can hide and it will recover only to 20%. Then you're on your own. But even that seems kind of easy.
Zeshuan
If you've tried playing TLaD's gang wars past level 25 you'll know why HR is needed. While I like the challenge and numerous targets, I don't enjoy having to use a health cheat. Though the rest of the game, as well as IV and TBoGT, are pretty fair without HR. To balance this ability your character will be less resistant to weapons fire; making smart, tactical play crucial to survival. Snipers would leave you with barely a percent of health; get too close to a shotgun-wielding opponent and well, you can figure that one out. Limited health and armour also require a unique set of tactics to be successful but sacrifice combat immersion. Action sequences can be designed to last much longer and you don't have to go looking around for pick-ups when you're "in the zone". While the challenges associated with limited health add a distinct flavour to the game; HR just feels right. Having grown up like most of you playing limited health games, it's starting to feel a little 20th century. With HR becoming the standard in most games, I don't see why it wouldn't freshen up the combat in GTA. Of course R* will have to balance it out with more outrageous shootouts and car chases. And I think we're all down for more of that.
QwertyAAA
Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad idea. Calling the medics and then killing the one that heals you for your money was cheating enough. This, however, is an invincibility cheat in the context of GTA's gameplay.
TheShogunOfHarlem
Agree with the rest of you guys. It's not needed at all. Dealing with enemy AI is easy enough, (at times) why do I need to make combat easier?? At the very least they should have portable heath packs to bring with you. And I think we're all down for more of that. If it's similar to the Drug Wars in TBOGT past level 25 then it probably isn't that much of a challenge. With stupid heavily handicapped AI, I just feel that gameplay would be easier than it is. If HR is becoming the standard that doesn't mean it's really a leap forward. 5 hour campaigns are becoming "the standard". That just shows me that developers want to cater to gamers with ADD and hate challenges. (morons) That's isn't a snipe at you, but I'm seriously gonna cut down my game purchases if this trend of ADD gaming continues.
Drift-Kingz
The game would be too easy if there was health regeneration. It'd be like playing The Conduit but in a more different "format".
