Lialls
x: I will also say I'm not a huge fan on British accents y: But seriously, how can you have a good chase on narrow, curving, tangled roads if LC cops could barely keep up with you on straight, wide open avenues? And to add to that, every car feels like it's on ice. Now try to make multiple high speed turns in small spaces on ice and see where it gets you. That's my real problem with London. I could get over the other things. z: But the rest of Europe just seems unrealistic for GTA. x: Different groups of people speak differently, not all British accents are the same, they differ like they do in every place on Earth. y: Not all police chases have to take place in cars, I guess it's just opinion as to which type of roads, narrow or wide, would make a good chase, I like the idea of narrow, curvy roads. I think it would be more interesting. z: I don't understand what you mean. GTA cities based on real places, but real places in Europe seem unrealistic for GTA? Meh, to me, all British accents are the same. I don't live around enough(or any) British people to really know. I could never understand how narrow, curvy roads are more interesting in a police chase. I mean, how can you pick up speed when there's a turn every few feet? And that wasn't what I meant by "unrealistic".

Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham & the West Country (Cornwall/Pirate Land) all have very distinct accents. Different parts of London even have different accents like Cockney (Kent Paul/Danny Dyer) compared to a more generic South Eastern accent.
drscot
Now, I will say that the streets in London are f*cking retarded and would be terrible for a chase. I will also say I'm not a huge fan on British accents. I might even add that the level of gun crime in London is kind of iffy, and would be awkward to me for GTA compared to the running and gunning. But most other things would be pretty irrelevant. And if R* can deal with that stuff, I see no problem with London. But seriously, how can you have a good chase on narrow, curving, tangled roads if LC cops could barely keep up with you on straight, wide open avenues? On that note, why the f*ck did somebody make another thread like this? although i partly agree kwandilibro, i, being scottish, and living in london for a short while, would like to say that i think the english road system would call for a more diverse police chase, especially because we have roundabouts and the U.S. just has blocks. However, the part i agree on mainly is that you are not a fan of english accents. people like hugh grant might get all the american women but the rest will get a suprise when they turn up and find a load of drunk geordies offering them and their mate a bacardi breezer if they're up for a sh*g. todays rant over anyway, my point is that instead of a boring block system like IV, i think a more diverse road system should be implimented, although i am a fan of GTA being in the U.S. [obviously with cities like london existing in the GTA universe] EDIT: jamieleng: Kent Paul is played by Danny Dyer

Just like in National Lampoon's European Vacation & when The Simpson's visited London, Marge: "Keep turning, keep turning, keep turning".

jnzooger
Yes, most of use do. Infact, in the new housing developments in the California Central Valley, almost all of them use roundabouts to control traffic speed in areas where there could be kids. Venlonaer
we need 8 lane highway's in gta V with real traffic jams i'd prefer america too, gta's been america for the majority of the releases and i think it should be kept the way like that

Yeah, but I normally drive straight thru it, coming from Dukes' way, and run over a few peds who happened to be standing underneath the plaza (bad idea for them, I afraid). Same with rest of the f*cking world. SA ROCKS!! well poland is pretty good too? maybe if they added several big locations.. it will take more work but it would contribute to the playing experience for a big part? include a big city of europe and united states and link them together with e.g. plane or boat travelling. GritEngine
There are many, many more reasons why it needs to stay in the places we all know and love already Good points nonetheless. The grid style streets and even 5m sidewalks of these cities are crucial to gameplay and navigation of the worlds.
