Yoshi648
Hello there. I have been playing Grand Theft Auto 4 for a few weeks and haven't been had any trouble with it. However, I ran into a little problem recently. For my next story mode mission (I'll Take Her) I was instructed to go to [email protected] to look up the phone number. Upon pressing the E button to use the computer a loading screen (plain black background with "LOADING..." in the bottom right) appears which is then followed by the game crashing (Grand Theft Auto IV has stopped responding...) and returning me back to my own desktop. I have been playing the game practically non-stop without any hassles for nearly 4 weeks and haven't had problems with anything. I re-installed the game, reloaded my save file and sure enough the problem was still there. I started a new game, got to the point where I can use a computer, and found that it works perfectly fine. So based on everything I can assume there is something wrong with my main save file. Every other aspect of the game works perfectly fine, except for this little computer problem. Unfortunately, I can not continue with the story mode until this is fixed. While it is a good game, I would like for this save to get fixed instead of having to start all over (especially with all the side missions I have been doing in the mean time, I'm getting so very close to 100% completion). I have already contacted Rockstar about this problem but they basically said there is nothing that can be done. So that brings me to ask here if anything is possible. Is there any way I (or someone else) can get my save file fixed to let me continue on with the game again? Don't know if this would be of help, but I am running Windows 7 with a Steam download version of the game. Thanks in advance.
