uk_john
Can someone please help me? I have the same problem with 1.0.7.00 but my log says something about windows live, which is totally up to date and is obviously ok, as I can play GTA IV fine with the 1.0.6 patch! mkey82
Try using winrar or 7zip to open the last update as an archive. Basically you can extract the files manually and just drop them in your game dir. Some updates can be opened as archives, but I'm not sure about all of them. mkey82
Extract the archive "GTAIV_1.0.7.0_Patch.zip" somewhere, you will have three files inside. Then start the universal extractor, choose the "TitleUpdate.msi", click OK, select the first option in the list ("MSI administrative installer") and confirm. If it doesn't work, try with some other option.

uk_john
I used UniExtraxt, a free extractor, chose AutoUpdate.msi and extracted to a folder called TitleUpdate. Inside that folder was a folder called PFiles and inside that a folder called GFWL TitleUpdateRoot. In this folder you will find all the GTA IV 1.0.7.00 files that you can cut/paste or copy to your GTA IV installation folder. I don't see anywhere where the game tells you what version you're running, but I did the above and my GTA IV is working fine.
mkey82
In the GTAIV.exe properties, details tab you shall find the game version. Updates write files only, nothing is added to the registry hence this is an acceptable way to install the update.

mkey82
You are always supposed to use the launcher. With Intel integrated graphics cards, you should try using some older game version, like 1.0.1.0 or 1.0.4.0.
