In GTA IV there is a wall with a writing: "RIP Claude". But do you really believe Claude is dead?

As far as i know the graffiti in IV is nothing more than saying that any connections to previos (III ERA) storyline or characters has been ended with

Algonquin Assassin

Until R* actually say he's dead (That goes for Tommy, CJ, and Toni. Vic is already accounted for) then they're not really dead.

R* often like to keep their fans guessing. It would be boring if they officially confirmed that all the protagonists are actually dead, because there would be no need to use our imaginations.

The graffiti is Rockstar's lazy ass way of ending the III series, but Claude lives on.

He would only go out shooting!

Don't care, really.

Although, it's a different universe, so he can't be dead, since he doesn't exist there.

You are an aperture through which the universe is looking at and exploring itself.

WHY Rockstar wants to never return to GTA III Canon? This is horrible, GTA III era has a lot of fans and great characters, like CLAUDE SPEED, OG LOC, MIKE TORENO, 8 BALL, and others, why they want to erase this past??

I don't know tbh, nothing is stopping them from making a next gen spin off of the III era.

It could happen in a few years you never know.

i want type my opinion, not only Claude, but also other protagonists in GTA III era

Claude:i think he moves from Liberty City.and Claude may become the head of Yakuza

Tommy:he is a retired man,and his son takes his place

Mike:live in Colombia

CJ:he is a bilionare, and i think he no longer a Grove Street Member

Tony:he along with Joey,Luigi, and Mickey are chasing Claude

Vic:he is really dead, and i think it's Pete who writes it on the wall

I think Claude can't be the Yakuka Leader, because I think only japaneses can be the Yakuza Leader.

I'm sorry, but why is it so hard for some fans to understand that the III and IV era are seperate 'universes'? Any mention of another era is simply an easter egg. Claude is alive/dead as much as you imagine he would be after GTA III. cookie.gif

By that I mean it's some sort of reboot, a re-imagining. III never happened in IV.

right... if you don't understand this then commit suicide: suicidal.gif

Claude, tommy, CJ, toni and everyone was part of the GTA III era, spanning 5 games over 3 areas. Libetry City, San Andreas and Vice City

in the GTA IV era there are new characters and new story.

everything from the III era NEVER happened, except the radio stations (and maybe some similar stuff like TV), but nothing to do with storyline or characters remains as an actual event.

The GTA IV era is so far set in Liberty City (and maybe Vice City in future, or San An or something) and the NAME OF THE CITY is the only similarity in terms of the story, the setting is the only constan for the time being. and that has had a reboot to make it next-gen and actually look like the new York boroughs it depicts, to some extent.

any reference to the III era in the IV era is obviously an easter egg, if you did not know that when you first saw it then you ARE a retard. Imagine it as a dream Niko had on the journey on the platypus if you must, or the other way round If you need to.

Hopefully you fools now understand... Jack Mercer understands and I just thought I would explain it in idiot terms for the rest of you.

If you struggle with this simple concept then never watch deathnote suicidal.gif = cookie.gif

A few corrections:

*6 games, probably. Advance happened.

*Nothing from the III era happened in the IV era, unless specifically referred to in-game and in no uncertain terms.

But indeed, Biko speaks the truth.

Actually, only one city still exist in the GTA IV era: Los Santos, because there are commercials saying Los Santos actors are now stars or something like that

But it's ok, as long as I've played GTA III era games except GTA III, I'm always in a happy life smile.gif

Those easter eggs (graffiti, Claude's clothes in Playboy's home) are just put by R* for people to remember the "good old days" when they played GTA III era, because it is probably over, and not a character from III era will appear anymore. I never even saw that graffiti, nor I know where it is located (I don't give a sh*t) but people should really stop thinking that Claude, Tommy and CJ are dead. In IV era, they never existed.

Claude was never alive, he is merely a combination of pixels emmited through data files onto our screens. tounge.gif

But for the sake of playing fantasy with you all, I would perfer to believe he is still alive come this day in age, just not in the GTA IV world. This graffitti is just Rockstar Games letting us know they are done with the III era, but they haven't forgotten about it. It's kinda symbolic for "RIP III" as an era, not the characters being dead literally.
