AlfieWilRus
Ok, my idea is that there are a lot people that just join the forums to have one question answered and then they are gone for ever and then never return. How about if a guest can ask questions in a new section but that is only for guests. For example they can only post in the guest section but no where else unless they are a member. So we don't have one timers coming and going over and over. Also normal members are the ones that reply to the posts that the guests post. No other guest can reply and the guest that posted the topic will have the replys sent to his/her email address.
Minus the Boom
Okay... uhm, why would we do this?
Tyler
That topic would be filled with so much non-sense and useless crap that Moderators and Admins alike would never see the light of day trying to clean it all up. The most simplistic way of doing things is keeping them the way they are. Your suggestion, though nice, would not help the forum in the long run. Try and plan out the negatives and positives of your idea alright man?
Vanzant
Why did you have to make Two topics about this???
Girish
And who will clean up all the spam and pr0n that these guests will be posting in that forum? We go through enough sh*t from registered members as it is giving the mods a headache; I'm pretty sure we don't need it from guests. Guests already have the liberty to lurk around every part of the forum. If they like what they see, they register. After that, there's not much we can do to force them to stay on. Emhyr
IMO,all people who just register and then go,should be deleted,if they don't write anything at least one month, and this idea about guests is bad, because no one wants registration,if he can ask or discuss without it. The more members this place has though, the more money it makes. I don't think that's quite true. A forum could have 5 million members, but no one visiting. Would it make any more money from the ads? No, because no-one is visiting to see the ads. Contrary, the forum could have 1 member, but 5 million guests visiting. And they'd all see the ads. However, as far as I know, money isn't generated from displaying the ads, it's generated when someone clicks on the ad. People usually ignore them, so I don't really know how you can get a lot of money from it, or at least enough to support multiple servers (I think that's the case with GTAF, or so I've heard. Maybe wrong. But there are forums with multiple servers.) We will be the arms that lift you up We will be the hand that strike you down
uNi
That's why I don't like adsense that much. It's a pay-per-click not a pay-per-view system. You only get a few cents too if you have a lot visitors like in this case. Although, a large member base helps you if you want to get lucrative.
