The details of this game.....

Well, I've played this game for the PC for a year or so, racking up the hours. Here I am, playing TBOGT (which wouldn't matter in this case) when something really suprised me. I'm doing a mission, tailgating a cop, trying to not hit the bastard cause I hate running, when all of a sudden he throws a smashed coke can out the window. The details of this game still amaze me, wow...

It's good to see some people still appreciate the little details of GTA IV.

I can't wait to see how they step up them details in GTA V, after seeing what how Mafia 2 has set the bar. (so I've been told)

Ya, some of the details still amaze me, like the way Niko holds a cigarette and the fact that the ice cream truck plays music.

One of the little things or "details" that wowed me is...between the gunshop and the swingset in Aldernay theres a road where some of the asphalt is missing (in patches) and it has a brick texture...as cars pass over it the sound of their tires change to the sound of tires on bricks!

The town I infest has a lot of brick roads...

Just looked at the strategy guide...

Its "Fulcrum Ave." north of the gas station by the swingset and south of the gunshop.

I go there alot, to jack one of the two trucks that spawn there, to play on the swingset.

What about those planks over certain holes?

Maybe make them movable in GTA 5, and respawn there like every object..just that they should be a bit heavier so you dont create chaos everytime you drive over them.

Yester I had the most amazing moment and it was so damn excited!

I was being chased by cops and there are no people to see me.

There were 5 cops on the streets and I kep running and running so they cant see from

a distance and then I hide in the alleys.

They didnt saw me, so I hide, a cop walks to me.

He was standing there and I didnt showed myself.

I was crouching and walking to see him.

I saw him approaching and I was like "F*UCK! I gotta hide!"

So I did, behind a dumpster, he came close and said:

"Come one, show yourself"

And then he walked away.

I was amazed!

Then I walked again to see them, they saw me alien.gif

Im really impressed.

And luckily I have saved that moment with Capture Clip.

One of the details I really like is the fact that cops actually arrest people, and not to mention they pull people over and check their car. That's just awesome. I love driving on the highway to Alderney and seeing the cop searching through somebodies trunk of the car.

Yh, I saw them too when on highways.

When finished looking into the trunk, walking to the driver

and "Did you smoked something?" lol

He let him away.

Buuut, sometimes they have bad luck.

They got arrested after looking into the trunk biggrin.gif

i did the unique jump in broker/dukes. the one down the long allyway, with the garages on your left over the river

anyway i hit the ramp a bit askew and was spinning over it.

i was watching the cinematic can in slow motion and as i was coming to the road on the other side, a ped was walking past drinkin coffee.

he turned to me and reacted in shock, dropped his coffee, and then got decapitated by the side of my car.

it was cool the reactions of the ped, but was also funny as hell too!

This isn't a detail in the game, but in the end credits I noticed that one of the names in the 'the people of Liberty City' voice names is Luis Lopez -- that is one of the extra/voice actors has that name in real life.

Im still amazed how weapons are handled by the game after they are dropped.

I did a vigilante mission "Gang Activity"

sideswiped them all with my police cruiser and killed 8 out of 9, shot the last one.

One of their weapons, a pump shotgun was resting against the rail.

I walked next to it , kicked it, it slipped and then shot dealing a lot of damage to me. nervous.gif

that part of the game sorta pisses me off! I love the gta series, but GTA IV totally ROCKS!!! often while driving I'll see people throwing trash out their windows, and driving with a friend (I notice it mostly from Little Jacob) they'll throw an empty soda container out the window of your car! I wanna slap him upside the face and say: "no LITTERING from MY car!!!!" biggrin.gif but I guess he's too stoned to get me anyway, seeing all the ganja smoke pouring from the windows!!! (which is kinda strange as he likes the windows up to keep the smoke in (hotbox, as he says in your 1st mission with him))

Are you serious about that? DE-CAPITATED!!??? I saw a lot of headless corpses in SA (usually a result of headshots with high powered rifles. But I've shot people close up even with a sniper rifle and I've NEVER seen a headless corpse in IV (unless they land next to a wall where the head is meshed into the wall. sorry, but I'm gonna hafta say "Bullsh*t" to that one!

One of the first things detail wise I noticed in GTA IV was...

If you GENTLY tap a fire hydrant with your vehicle, one of the caps falls off of the hydrant!

An impressive detail is that there is a car wash that has a sign that says something like "Cabs Save $2". And sure as sh*t, if you wash a cab there it only costs $3 instead of the usual $5

Really? I've never noticed that before. Seriously there's probably 100s of details in GTA IV we haven't even discovered yet.

I remember how amazed I was by the wall clocks in the back ground of cutscenes being in sync with the actual in game clock.

RDR also has alot of amazing details too.

Agreed entirely.

RDR is also one of those games that if you think you've seen it all, you haven't seen sh*t.

The Lolwut Pear

I've been messing with First Person mod and decided to look around in car, and I saw Roman picking his nose. Yes, picking his nose. I lol'd and realized what an amazing detail it was.
