But downgrading GTA:IV is an option I'd rather not take. And if I were to sue XLiveless, I'd have to start new save files, which is also an option I'd rather not take. This is puzzling.

I just tried xliveless, I removed the dsound.dll and placed the xlive.dll in the folder, the game ran fine and produced no errors and my mods (nets) ran fine.

OK, I removed 'dsound.dll' and placed 'xlive.dll' and 'xlive_d' into my GTA:IV main directory; game loaded up fine, and the C++ scripts ran fine. So how do I now debug and find out what's wrong with my script language please?

 

EDIT: Stupid me; I forgot to rename 'xlive_d.dll' to 'xlive.dll'. I'll just try again.

Do you have:

 

1) .dotnet 4.0 installed

2) installed the c++ 2010 redist x86 ?

 

I have no problems running .net scripthook on Windows 7 X64. (using blade's asi loader).It is clear that your system doesn't have one of the prerequisites installed.

You see that the dotnethook.asi loads with an exception (the 0 address).

@ sjaak327: Yes, I've confirmed that I have .NET v4; Donny78 gave me an address link on the 'C' drive and I confirmed the presence of a specific folder and opened it to reveal the relevant files. I was sure I had the relevant C++ distributable; can I check on my PC that I do/do not have it (before downloading it)?

Oh, and I ran the game using 'LaunchGTA4'.app, not the .exe (to avoid 'drunk camera syndrome').

Installing it again doesn't really harm, but you can check for the presence of the redist by going to control panel, programs and features. Microsoft visual C++ x86 redistributable 10.0.30319 should be listed, if it's not, download using the link I provided, run it and possibly restart your computer (just to be sure).

You could run dependency walker to find the exact dll, first I would simply make sure that C++ redist 2010 is actually installed.

guys talking about another .net mod that also had the same loading problem, which indeed was solved by installing the redist, make sure you install the x86 redist, not the x64 redist.

Cheers Sjaak237, I was trying to find out what version of the redist I had also, mine is: 10.0.30319

 

Realted to that line "06/09/2010 14:52:26.573 Error loading library 126" as LMS said, I'm sure there was a dll missing post in the nethook thread, something about msvcr100.dll or something named like that.

I FOUND A FIX

 

DOWNLOAD THIS AND PUT IN MAIN DIRECTORY!!!

If the above doesn't work (installing the redist as they have said) then give that dll a try from the quote.

I have no problems running .net scripthook on Windows 7 X64. (using blade's asi loader).It is clear that your system doesn't have one of the prerequisites installed.

Glad you got it working, I hope the mod works as it is now (latest compile), i'll finish it off today I think and release it.
