arun279
I don't know if this has been asked before. I purchased Gta 4 and installed it. I registered to windows live, got rockstar social club, the whole shebang. Then, after the whole installation process was over, it asked me to insert back disc one to load the game and enter the register key for the first time. I inserted disc one and rockstar social club app launched and prompted me to click on the Play button. But when I click on the Play button, nothing happens. You heard it right, absolutely nothing happens. I tried clicking on the GTA 4 launch icon directly as well, same problem. No error message nothing, no getting stuck at the load screen, no black screen. Nothing; absolutely nothing happens. I have a subscription of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and I can assure you, there is no virus. I am the only user of this laptop, so, there are no issues of permissions as well. I gave compatibility as windows xp sp3. I opened firewall and allowed the game as well. But no change. All software, including OS, anti-virus and the game itself is genuine. I have purchased everything and nothing is pirated. My configuration. Windows 7 64-bit intel core i7 500 gb hard disc (most of which is empty) 6gb RAM ATI HD 5730 graphics (1gb) I tried installing and playing Fifa 09, and it works perfectly. I got fed up of this game and tried to uninstall GTA 4; but that doesn't happen too. sad.gif I went to control panel and right-clicked on GTA 4 and clicked on uninstall. The uninstaller starts, but doesn't move further at all; it gets stuck or something. When I try to cancel it, it won't cancel. When I goto task manager and end the task, it ends instantly. I can uninstall other apps, so, this is the only problem. I called the customer care that was written in the back of the box and they say they have never heard of this problem. I tried googling for this problem, but no one seems to have this problem. I don't know what to do. Please someone help me load this game or atleast help me uninstall it and I'll forget I ever bought this damned game.
mkey82
You can't find a single instance of people who have trouble starting GTAIV? I get 200000 hits http://www.google.com/search?q=gtaiv+won't+start Anyway, it's now questionable if your game was partially uninstaller or not. Insert the game DVD and try performing a repair install. Then install the updates http://www.rockstargames.com/support/IV/PC/GFWLupdate/ http://games.softpedia.com/get/Patch/Grand...-IV-Patch.shtml
