Nearly 50% of the way through the game

BUT I've had a quick look at some websites and it seems there arent many missions left, so I dont understand why I'm not perhaps 70% through?

 

Is this because I havent done all the side missions and girlfriends etc

of course you have to do the side missions if you want 100%

Completing the storyline only nets you about 60% completion alone, then the next biggest chunk seems to be completing all the stranger missions which nets you 5%.

 

So you're going to have to complete a lot of side missions and activities to get the last big chunk of percentage.

Perhaps find a 100% Completion Checklist.

There's always Episodes of Liberty City.

The game doesn't take a long time if you go 'guns blazing' down the main missions. Is is better to use the checklist and slowly play the side quests as you go.

Trying to do all 200 pigeons in one go is very annoying. And time consuming!

 

Do the jumps and pigeons as each island opens up to give yourself a break.

 

And as Flygonair has said, there is always the DLC.
