Liberty city stories vs Vice city stories

I like the LCS style, but VCS was better in terms of gameplay, you could swim, had helicopters... stuff like that

i like LCS but i think vice city stories is better. and btw jf6293, you can get helicopters from LCS. i have a cheat device that can do almost anything you want. i can even spawn a TINY INVISIBLE heli.

I like the mafia theme in LCS, but the gameplay, music and voice acting is far better in VCS in my opinion.

Vice City Stories had a good story line and great characters and better game-play. I enjoyed it a lot, I barely played Liberty City Stories but the storyline seems good too, I'll go with Vice City Stories.

No matter how many times I play LCS I simply can't get into it. Which is why it's my least favourite GTA. It's still a good game, but isn't as sustained, or addicting as the other GTAs IMO.

 

Actually I think empire building would've suited LCS more than VCS.

It is close, but I thought Vice City Stories was slightly better than Liberty City Stories after I had played the games, but now, I am not 100% sure. Vice City Stories had many great missions and I liked that Empire feature, but if we talk about cities, then I prefer Liberty City over Vice City.

 

I think they are equally good, and the games are very simliar to GTA III/Vice City.

well... thats a difficult decision... choosing between LCS and VCS, but i think VCS is better. The player has a lot of more habilities and the game itself offers a bunch of funny vehicles and cool sub-missions to do.

 

But i like LCS too, with its great radiostations (i mostly listen to Liberty jam, Kjah, Flashback and Rise) and the game offers a cool storyline in my opinion.

I know it's been while since this post, but I've been thinking. I liked VCS more as a game, but I didn't really like the story, or characters that much. I liked the story, and characters in LCS, but have never really been a big fan of the GTA III era Liberty City.

 

So if LCS's story, and characters were tailored to fit VCS's setting it would've been more epic than GTA III, and VC IMO.

MiamiViceCity is correct about the story and characters in VCS. I found Vic are a bit hypocritical, saying he doesn't want to do drugs, he still do it anyway, don't feel he has any regrets doing it and use his sick brother as an excuse. Lance is just an idiot, plain and simple. And the relationship between Louise and Vic should have elaborated more because she only featured in a few cutscenes then disappeared for most of the game. They could do the story better

 

LCS's story was badass. Working with Sal is such a pleasure and he give out some awesome missions. I really like how Toni and Sal work together to build their mafia empire, but Toni is a bit a bitch to let Sal rip him off in the end.

 

Anyway Miamivicecity is right again.

Have you ever played VCS?

 

Radio: VCS had real music and is far better scripted.

Characters: The entire cast was more vibrant and memorable. The LCS cast was somewhat bland.

Setting: VC is twice the size of LC and has far more to interact with.

Islands: Same as setting.

Weather: The weather in LCS was far to bland whereas R* did a great job of capturing a somewhat tropical climate.

Vehicles: VCS had a far better and more interesting selection.

Intro: Starting out in the army was for more interesting than the "man returning to a city" scenario which was used in SA

Story/Missions: The missions in LCS were too short and the story was forgettable.

Gangs: The only aspect that VCS failed to improve on.

Better Game: VCS by far. It dealt with most of the flaws that LCS contained and was a far more vibrant offering.
