ATHMystikal
OK I reinstalled my OS to Win 7. The installed GTA IV and then patch 1.0.3 I game starts fine and I could see the main menu. Then I tried to start the bench mark tool. But after showing some characters, a dark screen shows up saying 'Starting...' then suddenly audio frezzes(it repeats the last second audio again and agin) and game crashes. Then I tried to play the game. sh*t thats not working either!. I tried reinstalling but no use. I never tried to play this game on Windows7 before. But I played it in Win XP on the same system w/o much trouble. So what should I do. Is there some fix???? -EDIT- Forgot to tell u something. Whenever I install GTA IV, there is no GTAIV.exe !. I noticed this just now. It apperas only after I apply 1.0.3 patch. But the installer doesn't indicated anything wrong. Maybe my DISC got corrupted. But again, I checked most of the archives, movies,...with other tools, they are fine. Edited August 10, 2010 by ATHMystikal
ATHMystikal
THANK GOD I FIXED IT After a lot of trial and error, I finally got GTA IV running. The problem was a corrupted Disc-1. But the GTA installer never gave any error messages. Heres how I fixed it. 1. Extracted files from Disc-1 using ISO buster. 2. Created new .iso image using PowerISO. 3. Mounted it then installed GTA. (but didn't install RGSC) 4. Applied 1.0.7.0 patch 5. Played it.
